About this listen

A legacy forged in blood and shrouded in nightmares.

With everyone she’s ever loved dead, Effie’s fate is no longer one of her choosing. Overnight, she becomes the newest initiate of the Keepers of Prophecy, a secret order that Sees what the future holds.

War looms for the land of Elysia, unless Effie can prevent it by harnessing her visions and interpreting their meaning. Yet as what she Sees becomes far more dark and sinister, she finds herself no closer to deciphering it.

Forced to rely on her tutor and Guardian, her inner turmoil deepens when feelings within herself—those she thought died with the man she loved—resurface. One man would give up everything to be with her. The other challenges her at every turn.

Struggling to focus amid her awakening desires, Effie fights to unravel the truth buried within her nightmares. Will she discover it in time to be the salvation Elysia needs...or will one wrong reading damn them all?

Equal parts dark fantasy and forbidden romance, The Keeper’s Legacy by Meg Anne is chock full of delicious dark angst! Fans of K.F. Breene and Sara C. Roethle can't get enough!

such a great story!!!

I didn’t get a chance to read the first couple of books in this series, but since this is mostly the start to a new series, I wasn’t confused at all. This starts off the story of Effie, who is part of the Chosen now and considered a Keeper of Prophecy, and her journey to discover how to use her new talents of seeing the future. She is given a tutor, Kieran, who we discover is a fae prince from a different world/plane, and also a guardian, Lucian. Both of them intrigue her and she is attracted to both of them.
She gets herself into a lot of trouble since she keeps jumping into situations out of her control, but she is such a loveable character. I really like both Kieran and Lucian as well.
The narrators did an AMAZING job doing their voices and definitely keep me intrigued and interested. Now I just need to read/listen to the next books in the series to see what happens next!

I received an ALC for my honest review!

1000% love

If you love prophecy, romance, and hilarious moments and a great new catch phrase this is the story for you :)

Excellent narration, makes you really feel like you are there with the characters and really understand what they are feeling and going through.

Such a great story line full of past cameos of the Chosen characters and makes you know more about Effie and her story and her triumph and struggle as well.

Mother's tits, you won't want to stop listening to this story:p

Intriguing new world of fantasy and excitement

ALC review - I was hesitant to start a spin off series without have read/listened to the origin story but as soon as I listened to the Dreamer I understood why Meg wisely included it in the audio because I would not have understood Kieran and Effie's dynamic without it and I would not have started the Keeper's Legacy with as much empathy as I already had for Kieran's struggles to find her. Effie's story however provided the 9 circles of angst that made it unputdownable. Bullied lonely orphan who recently lost loved ones, newbie at the Order of Prophecy which is uber creepy due to the fantastic world building, secret orders, secret powers, secret realms with one way doors, looming wars and zombie like like shadow creatures. I mean whats there not to like right ? to tell you the truth, it took me a minute to grasp it all and then Smoke made an entrance and I perked up in terror. Shane East's characterization of the Triamvarate is terrifying, holy smokes Ive never heard Shane sound so ominous. Absolutely fantastic performance. Stella's Effie is run down but not defeated which is may favorite kind of heroine. The fake it till you make it kind. She is sassy, unafraid and determined even if she is unsure of her horrific visions and how to interpret them nor how to deal with her tutor and her guardian who are already competing for her attention. Her sexual and emotional tension with Lucien and Kieran adds more layers of angst because you can tell the chemistry is so intense when it explodes its going to be epic ! the books ends on an expected cliffhanger and I am so excited for parts 2 and 3 because this fantastical world of dreamers, keepers and shadows has so much more to be revealed !

Fantastic cast!!!

Effie has so much sassy in her little body but you can't let her size fool you. She will no longer be pushed around and ran over no matter anyone's size or title. Kieran and Lucian keep me going on a love them and then want to throttle them. I think I have finally picked a side but I will not tell you who just yet. Fully of action and intrigue. Can't wait to read the next one to see how this war will continue and just how the tides may turn. Plus I want to know some many of the secrets that all of them are keeping. I had previously read and the book and listening to this cast just brought it to life on a whole new level. They did an amazing job and couldn't have picked better people for the characters.

Hooked from the beginning

Great start to this series! It’s full of action, mystery, and suspense. The world building is exceptional and I was completely drawn in from the very beginning. I thoroughly enjoyed the multiple POVs. It really enhanced the experience.

The narrators did an amazing job on the dual POV! Shane East and Stella Hunter are a dream team. They bring this series to life!

Great listen! Narration is Awesome! *chef's kiss*

Enjoyable and the performance is exemplary! Characters are well written and the story line flows well. Tbh my favorite books are the next set with Ronan and Reina... that series is SWOOOON City!! lol.But this series is great too and I did not read these (listen to) in order. I started with Ronan's story and then found these books and started on book 6, this one, The Keepers Legacy, because I enjoy the duet male/female narration better than a single narrator. So I missed the entire beginning of the series, but that's ok because it doesn't matter in the way this author writes!! Love her style!! Worth the credit or money!!

Shane East blows my mind

This book lives rent free in my mind since I’ve listened to it. Meg Anne does an exceptional job in building these fantastic worlds. The fantasy world of Elysia is on the break of war. Our story follows Effie, a new initiate into the Keepers of Prophecy who can see what the future holds. She is learning to find herself and become independent from others telling her what she should do. Effie has no problem speaking her mind, and I love this about her. As she’s training, another Keeper named Kieran does his best to win her heart. His past drives him to prove he’s more than what he was raised to believe. Effie butts heads with her tutor and Guardian Lucian often. Lucian is noble and takes his job serious. But the more he trains with Effie, his feelings start to evolve. I love the push and pull between them.

Now let’s get to the audio performances. Stella Hunter is a top tier female narrator. Her accents are flawless, and she does a great job of giving Effie strength, as well as show vulnerability. James Joseph is a fairly new narrator for me, and he’s quickly becoming a favorite. His performance as Kieran is exceptional. Then there’s Shane East. When I tell you some of the voices he uses in this book gave me chills, I’m not exaggerating. One of the creepiest voices I’ve heard in audio. This might be Shane’s best performance.

Meg Anne does a great job of introducing characters and setting the story for the rest of the series. I cannot wait for the second book to find out what happens next. Put this on your TBL list!

Excellent World Building

Meg Anne creates an intriguing world of wonderful characters. The push/pull between the 3 main characters leaves you guessing and waiting on pins and needles for the next one! Shane, Stella, and JJ do an amazing job performing.

My favorite audio narration of 2022

This is the first book in The Keepers trilogy which takes place in The Chosen Universe and begins when Effie leaves Helena’s circle to learn how to understand her newly acquired visions. Effie meets the Triumvirate (a scary group of individuals who speak telepathically), Lucian, one of The Keepers Guardians and Kieran, a fellow Keeper; to name a few.

Listening to this Super Trio of a cast bring these characters to life will have you jumping out of your seat in fear; or wanting to reach through your device and strangle them in frustration.

This book and series will on a regular rotation in my audiobook listening

4.5 Stars - Slow burn fantasy delight

I would 100% recommend Meg Anne’s writing for non-fantasy fans looking for an intro to the genre. I went from zero interest in fantasy (even romance) to being on pins and needles waiting for the next book to show up in Audible!

Not only is Meg’s writing bringing back memories of great stories like WILLOW & LABRYNTH from my youth, but she also weaves it into a romance that leaves you breathless and wanting for more. You care so much for Effie, Lucian, and Kiernan that you are anticipating each and every line of dialogue for more information about the characters. The side characters build in so well you can’t imagine the story without each having their place in the tale.

I think what set this book over the top for me is the simply magnificent acting of Stella Hunter, Shane East, and James Joseph in the audiobook. I already adore each of these talented actors, but this was some of the best voice work they have completed to date. The prequel “The Dreamer” is included in the audiobook and starts off with James as solo narration. Then you enter the main title with Stella in the first portions of story. Right away you fall in love with the brave “little one” who is smaller in stature than those around her but has enough sass to lay waste to the biggest.

The shocker to me was not the range of voices / accents each could do, but the “Creep Factor” that each could bring to the mean, scary, or other-worldly creatures. Shane East literally scared me & I had to pause for a bit when his “Smoke” voice filled the speakers. Talent beyond talent & they all deserve awards.

Additionally, I listened to this story with my husband, who appreciates fantasy fiction. He thoroughly enjoyed the performances that brought Meg’s artful writing to life. There is a bit of a steam factor, but not enough to be off putting to someone who doesn’t listen to a lot of romance but is open to hearing the details of intimate moments.

Now, Meg Anne…where is book two as we need it in our greedy ears right away!
