Jazz will stop at nothing to save her brother.

Roller coaster!
This book kept me on the edge of my seat! The characters seemed like real people who got themselves in over their head! I really enjoyed the story and the narration seemed spot on!

ExCUSE ME?!
This book had me on my toes from the start. I loved the complexity of Jazz’s character, and how she wasn’t exactly a fully good person but she tried her best and did what she thought she had to. Carol was way too real of a character and I hated her the whole time (I think I was supposed to.) and Sophia and Joachim were so good. I can’t remember a book that had me so stressed and invested, and I recommend this to anyone who needs something other than their own life to be anxious about for a bit.

Enjoyed "The Chain"? U will love "The Kill Club"!
Imagine getting a call offering you the resolution of one of your biggest problems, and the only thing you have to do will be to return the favor by getting rid of someone else’s biggest problem. A win win situation, right? or so Jazz thought.
Jazz has this one-time-life-changing option to get rid of her fanatically religious foster-mother who believes that Jesus the Lord can cure Jazz’s brother’s diabetes by locking him up in her house. As she speaks in “languages” commanding the power of God to heal him of his sickness while contradictorily damning Jazz to hell, Jazz is “forced” to join the club.
In “The Kill Club”, we have this fresh premise of a mysterious club of killings going around California. You get a package from Amazon with a set of instructions and a target, and you have to keep in mind that no errors are allowed. Jazz Benavidez is a fighter and the main character of this story who promises a to die ending.
Will Jazz be able to complete her task? Will Jesus cure Jazz’s brother’s diabetes? Will the system in the States be useful? Will the good one win for a chance? As the plot thickens with romance, gun power, fist fights and several plot twist, we start losing hope that this will ever have a happy ending just to realize that you, at the end, weren’t wrong, and if you though you knew better, think again.

Such a really good book!
The Kill Club was good. I really enjoyed the main character, Jazz, as well as the relationships she has with the other characters in the book. She asks the questions: how far would you go for love? How far would you go for justice? I really liked that!
The story is about a young woman who wants nothing more than to take her younger brother out of the custody of some wretched woman who abuses both her and the boy. She finds. A groups of people called the Blackbirds, who murder “bad people” when justice isn’t served appropriately.
I enjoyed the diversity aspect and the twists at the end were significant and strong.
The ending was my favorite part; but overall, this book was pretty mediocre for me.

If you read/ listened to the chain
Let me say this book was pretty good but if you listened to the chain first you’re not gonna get off that book high with this one. It’s still a pretty good book. It did take me 15 chapters to actually start paying attention. Interesting ending though

Jazz is my hero!
“The Kill Club” by Wendy Heard is a variation of Patricia Highsmith’s “Strangers on a Train”. The major differences are that the Kill Club is an organized group, and no one knows who is involved, other than the organizers.
Desperate Jasmine aka “Jazz” is at the end of her rope. Her brother is a diabetic and stuck with his adoptive mother Carol. Carol is a religious enthusiast who speaks in tongues and believes that God will cure anything, and modern medicine is useless. Jazz tries to get her brother, Joaquin his insulin in any way possible. She is twenty-eight years old, works at Trader Joes, and plays in a band. Oh, and she knows how to fight, mostly in a boxing way. She’s the heroine all readers root for.
As a result of a random event, she comes into possession of a flip phone left by a person who pushed her as he was running away. The phone rings and through a scrambled voice the caller says that she can make her problems with Carol “go away”. All she has to do is kill a random person. Once she does that, Carol will be eliminated. Jazz has a moral dilemma, she would do anything for her brother to protect him, but her internal ethics give her pause.
Meanwhile, the police have a serial killer known as the Blackbird killer. Jazz inadvertently gets mixed up in the serial killings. Because of her past, she has little faith in the police so doesn’t get the police involved.
I love the pace of this thriller. Plus, I never guessed who was behind the serial killings aka the Kill Club. This is not only a page turner, but it’s a character driven story that is entertaining and captivating. I highly recommend it for a fantastic thriller read.

More like this please
Non-straight bad ass female characters and not pervy?! Thank you! I love crime & thrillers, and this book is a good one, but puts it over the top that I can enjoy & not feel othered. There’s always awkward or boring parts with typical thrillers, specially if there is a love scene, but this story is about two women trying to take back control when they’ve been put into desperate situations to protect loved ones by a system that is far to real and broken. Fun, and enjoyable listen with great characters.

Couldn't Stop Listening!
Great story. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. I'm looking for the sequel now. Hope there is one!

Excellent!
Fast paced, engaging, and witty. Very creative plot lines. Leaves you wanting more of this twisted tale.
