Publisher's summary

"Please...someone...help us. We’re at The Lodge, the snow is everywhere. We’re trapped. There was an argument last night...things got out of hand. Someone went missing in the middle of the night. We think they might be dead...."

Two days ago, the Wilson family checked into the imposing, glass-fronted Lodge, surrounded by snow and perched perilously on the edge of a cliff looking out to a gray sea. Not everyone was looking forward to the family get-together. But mother-in-law Angela insisted the winter trip would help heal their rifts....

Danni: the new wife who feels like an imposter. She doesn’t trust anyone—even her husband. But is she trustworthy herself?

Fiona: the ex-wife who feels that all eyes are on her. She’s here for the sake of her children, but she fails to hide her seething jealousy toward her ex-husband’s new family....

Angela: the mother-in-law who can’t help but interfere. She planned the family holiday to get everyone together, but does she really want to keep the peace?

Scott: the husband torn between his ex-wife and his new wife. He says he wants to do right by his family, but he’s been telling lies to them all. Now his darkest secret is about to be revealed.

After a night of arguments, morning breaks with a single scream. Not everyone came to The Lodge play to happy families. Someone came to get revenge....

A completely gripping, utterly twisted thriller that will leave your jaw on the floor. Perfect for fans of The Housemaid, The Perfect Marriage, and The Girl on the Train.

More like 3.5

I enjoyed this book a lot in the beginning. And I especially appreciate what a good job it did of giving different perspectives. The story just got too long and drawn out from the middle to the end, as well as being anticlimactic. Even I was getting claustrophobic in The Lodge

Held my Interest

This book was pretty good, although the subject matter was a bit like a Lifetime movie. It will keep you listening!

Plot weave.

Loved narrators! Wow! Interesting storyline as it built and snaked its bumpy way to the surprising end.

British! Bloody Brilliant! Bewitching!

This perfect trio, author Sue Watson and narrators Tamsin Kennard and Alison Campbell ~ an audiction I crave and the main reason I chose this title. I devoured this deviously delicious thriller, complete with secretive and complexellent eccentricities, making “The Lodge” a future second listen of mine. Wow! “Jaw, meet he floor” moments and a shocker of an ending I never saw coming. A curious ensemble of characters kept me listening, making it difficult to take a break and kept me up into the early morning hours. Worth a treasured credit as well as the $13+ plus I paid. Highly recommended. And here I am again, jumping up and down on my rooftop, shrieking, “EPIC, I say, Epic, Epic, Epic!”

So looking forward to my second listen in two to three years. I do so frequently and it’s like my first time.

LOVE Sue Watson, Tamsin Kennard and Alison Campbell!!!

This is my 4th book by Sue Watson and she never disappoints!!! She always has a way to hold my attention and I can't stop listening. I'm also obsessed with anything Tamsin Kennard narrates, she's a dream!!!
This was my first time hearing Alison Campbell and she is outstanding too!! I also love how I always think I have Sue's books figured out but she consistently throws me for a loop at the end, which always entertains. I highly recommend!!!
