About this listen

Book 4 in the Chronicles of Uriel Ventris.

Having escaped from the insanity of the Eye of Terror, Uriel Ventris and Pasanius face an epic journey across a hostile world in their quest to get home to Ultramar.

Listen to it because....

After their close encounters with Chaos in the Eye of Terror, see what Uriel Ventris and Pasanius do next...and how even torn from their Chapter and everything they know, they remain Ultramarines to the core.

The Story:

The Ultramarines are the epitome of what a Space Marine Chapter should be. Warriors without peer, their name is a byword for discipline and honour, and their heroic deeds are legendary.

Uriel Ventris and his battle brother Pasanius are exiles from this great Chapter, banished until the completion of a deadly mission in the hellish Eye of Terror. Yet even once these two Ultramarines return to the Imperium from the depths of madness, they find themselves trapped on a war-torn world where warp-tainted rebels hold the balance of power. As the pair try to save the planet from the Ruinous Powers, they find that they themselves are suspected of being in league with the Dark Gods, and their chances of a triumphant return to their Chapter look bleak....

I like the stories that involve Ventris and his brothers and this story is no different.

Very good listen

I will say that book three of the Uriel Ventris Chronicles is a very important one in the series. However, I honestly preferred this one in terms of quality of story and voice performance. I think Bruce Mackinnon was much better this time around and the story was a good ghost story mixed in with Warhammer action. An overall enjoyable story.

Much better than Book 3, in my opinion.

A planet wide insurgency, the unfleshed, and the pestilent nightmares. All of the characters were very well rounded Uriel and Pasanius being my two favorite characters. Their camaraderie and shared experiences really enhances the book as the two characters balance one another impeccably. The story is an excellent follow up to Black Sun, Dead Sky picking up where it left off and thrusting our heroes into yet another rip roaring adventure, granted not nearly as dark as the one they just finished.

Excellent story of camaraderie

Slower paced compared to the previous book and fairly predictable, but Loving the series altogether.

Great climax to the plot

Many Audiobooks have uneven sound, even if the narrator is talented, This series has both and is engaging and fun.

Excellent Audio

It is fascinating how the author manages to maintain the suspense until the very end of the last chapter of the book. It was great to learn about the collaboration between different orders of Space Marines. The story is amazing. Can’t wait to listen to the next book

Amazing continuation of Uriel Ventris story
