Awesome book

This is the best book yet. I was upset at first because of the change in narrator, but I do like how Polly narrated the book. This book brought Gwendolyn to the forefront with her quest to regain her sanity. Well written drawing the reader/listener into the story. I am looking forward to the next installment!!

Great new narrator

This is a very enjoyable series. Although the previous narrator was good, I like the new narrator better.

Consistently excellent!

Wonderful characters, well plotted and very well written. The narrator does an elegant job with a very, very good story.

EXCELLENT Book!

This is another great addition to the Sparks and Bainbridge series. I highly recommend this series. Polly Lee (aka Ashford McNab) did a fabulous job as narrator. On to the next in the series!

Strong mysteries & stronger characters

It’s such a pleasure to find a mystery series where the returns do not diminish sharply as you go through. My only complaint is they aren’t being published fast enough, I’m so greedy for more!

I enjoyed this tremendously!

I've enjoyed this entire series very much. The writing is first class and the heroines Gwen and Iris are intelligent, interesting, engaging wonen. Post war London is brilliantly brought to life in details large and small.

THE BEST!!!

Love this series!! Have thoroughly enjoyed each book. Easy to get lost in the story and narration but this one has the most twists and turns. Would highly recommend beginning with book one and continue to this installment. Story line is totally engaging and characters are well developed. Definitely not your typical post WWII English mystery fare.

My least favorite in the series

I have been listening to the whole series as quickly as I can. The first 4 were great. The reader of this 5th book is not my favorite, at all. The voices for the various characters just do not fit the way the other reader’s did.
I kept getting confused with Gwen’s character because the reader has given her a very deep, almost masculine voice. Archie sounds like a barrister. Sally doesn’t sound as grandiose.

It may have altered my reception of the whole book, as this has been my least favorite in the series.
