About this listen

A mysterious island. A missing brother. Only three days until the volcano erupts.

East of the Solomon Islands, 1899.

Under the protection of darkly handsome Captain Jorge de Silva, Lady Bathsheba Asquith lands on the tropical island of Vanuaka in search of her missing brother. The trials of the jungle strip away any pretense of propriety and passion flares, but de Silva is not all he seems, and Bathsheba is in more danger than she can imagine.

Vanuaka's volcano is awakening, and only a human sacrifice can appease its fire.

Heat level: passionate.

boldly going into the unknown

What a hair raising our adventurous heroine has set out upon!!! I applaud her bravery and strong headedness!!! She lost one love but gained another. I enjoyed the journey. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.

Wild, passionate, fun and exciting adventure!

The Lady's Guide series of books feature strong, independent and intelligent women who crave adventure and excitement in their lives. Lady Bathsheba does not fit into the mold that society puts her, as an aristocratic young woman into. She accompanies her father and brother on archaeological explorations but now she is alone and desperate to find her missing brother in the South Pacific. Her only hope is a pirate with a shady reputation. Jorge is the rare pirate that has scruples about what he does. You will love him! He is reluctant to let Bathsheba hire his ship to go after her brother on a dangerous island with cannibals for natives. But he needs to money. He also has a dark secret that he keeps from her. The short book is full of excitement, adventure, humor and passion as the two try to stay one step ahead of the natives and the violent volcano to try to follow her brother's route. This book would make Indiana Jones proud. I really loved the book and Jorge is definitely swoon-worthy! The narrator is perfect for the role.

Wonderful Story!

This is The Lady’s Guide to Escaping Cannibals. Lady Bathsheba is a beautiful widow. She is worried for her missing brother. She hires the handsome brooding Captain Jorge de Silva to take her to his last trip.
Jorge is attracted to her and so is she! It’s exciting to listen to the book, it’s so well narrated and with background sounds. As soon as they reach the island it’s just the two of them. On one night they make love and it was 2 and a half 🔥🔥flames of hotness!
I really loved this exciting and adventurous story, but I love epilogues and I felt this book needed one.

An Surprising Story

From the title I really didn't know what to think at first, one word...".Cannibals". Well lets say I was pleasantly surprised. The adventure of a women to find her brother on her own, always is inspiring to me. Finding love along the way fantastic. I won't give any spoilers away by say if the cannibals actually ate anyone or not, so you can be surprised also.

Exciting

This was one exciting story. A women searching for her brother and the captain of a ship who helps her for the money. But this couple has an undercurrent of feelings for each other. Alone searching an island, hiding from fierce tribes people around makes then give into passion. Being caught by cannibals very scary. I love how they worked together to get away. I also loved the sound effects.

Exciting love story

This is a wonderful story held in the year 1899, the two main characters are strong people, Lady Bathsheba Asquith is a wealthy widow, travelling to a Pacific Island to find her brother, and Captain Jorge de Silva is the captain of his own ship! The Island has a volcano that is ready to erupt, this audio book held a lot of adventure, and a steamy love between the couple. There were tender moments in the story also, I enjoyed listening to the narrator voice, helps me get involved in the plot of book.I was given a ARC of the Audio book for my honest opinion of the story, I found it to be held with suspense, wonderful love story, and held my attention with the adventure. I would recommend this audio version, I think you would enjoy it as much as I have. Emmanuelle De Maupassant has a series of books and I've enjoyed so much.
