About this listen

Seventeen year old Veronica "Ronnie" Miller's life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alientated from her parents, especially her father...until her mother decides it would be in everyone's best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him.

Ronnie's father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church. The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story of love on many levels - first love, love between parents and children - that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that love can break our hearts...and heal them.

Nice clean book for young people in love.

The author was able to tell the story in an organized and understandable fashion. It is a little predictable due to the nature of the story but it kept my interest and it was easy listening. I am older but recommend it to those who are tired of negative, destructive and stressfilled books. I liked it and recommend it to others. It was relaxing. It had a good ending.

I love Nicholas Sparks, but I find that on occasion he can be overly predictable. Some of his novels have little to no plot, and this was one of those. I still enjoyed the book, but it was kind of boring; one that I could put down.

Sparks Again....

This book, in typical Sparks fashion, was delightful to listen too. I was home rccovering from eye surg. I had begun reading this latest Sparks book just before surgery. I have read every Sparks book previous to this one and enjoyed every one. This story touched my heart this holiday season and I appreciate its great message of love, family and faith in self and family through changing & difficult times.
