Story
From the internationally best-selling author of the Sword of Truth series comes a new Richard and Kahlan novella. "They are the monsters under the bed when you are little, the shape just caught out of the corner of your eye when you thought you were alone, the shadow of something in a dark corner that surprises you and then isn't there. They stop you dead with a knot of unexpected terror in the pit of your stomach. I think that the star shift has brought us closer to their realm so that they now have the power to step into our world and hurt us."

Hurrah for Terry and his effort to enlighten
I am finding this book equally entertaining, though much different from, The Sword of Truth series. He has fashioned a collage between the world of the Confessors and the modern world of today.
Not being a soothsayer nor do I own a crystal ball I am not sure exactly where this series will lead but I do think that it will be as enlightening as the world where Lord Rahl was powerful and Richard became the change of that power.
Well done Terry, I think that Ayn would be happy to see you stretch out your craft.

An exciting read
I enjoyed this book. The narrator was very good. The story kept getting more and more complicated as it went on; however, some 'endings' were a bit anti-climatic to me, but overall I liked it.

Not his best work, but if you like Goodkind it's great
An outlier in the sword of truth novels and written before the conclusion of the omen machine story arc this is out of place if read after the other books in the sword of truth world. However it provides enough fresh material and unique characters to drive a strong story of its own.

Lives up to the standards of the other books
Overall a great listen. This book is a little different from Terry Goodkind's other books of this series. Whereas the other books take place in a fantasy world, this book returns back to the "real" world and links it to the previous books, which is very intriguing and something i never expected. Great job, looking forward to the next book in the series.

A very surprising read.
What did you love best about The Law of Nines?
The surprises. It surprised me numerous times and it was a very enjoyable read.
What other book might you compare The Law of Nines to and why?
Thats hard to say. Mainly because I don't want to reveal and spoilers but I will say that it is kin to the Sword of Truth. Obviously because its the same author and he does tend to get
What about Mark Deakins’s performance did you like?
I liked his work very well. He did an awesome job in that I have nothing to critisize him for. He did his job so well that I can't really remember him as much as I remember the story. He kept me listening. That might sound like a bad thing, that I don't remember his reading but in my opinion its the best praise because he did his job perfectly. He read the different characters parts they way I would have expected in every case.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No but it was a book I was sad to see end.
Any additional comments?
I'm hoping for a sequel. I'm nervous to mention details because I don't want to reveal spoilers but I hope what was done in the end is exploited into another series of books. Several if possible.
