About this listen

The war against the implacable Cho-ta'an carried a desperate group of humans 1300 years into the past, but the fight for humanity's future is just beginning!

Mankind's future among the stars now rests on a ragtag band of Vikings who have taken to the stars. The Norsemen's only hope is to ally with the mysterious people called Truscans, who possess the technology to defeat the aliens. But where did the Truscans come from? What do they want? Can they be trusted as allies against the Cho-ta'an?

The Legacy of the Iron Dragon continues the story began in the Dragon Award-nominated The Dream of the Iron Dragon in a sweeping saga that carries us from war-ravaged planets in the 23rd century to first century Judea, where the fate of the Roman Empire is being decided.

The Legacy of the Iron Dragon is an epic mashup of military sci-fi, time travel, and alternate history.

It's always hard to switch narrators after multiple books with the same reader. This narrator pronounces words differently than her predecessor did. She's a fair reader. I thought a few of her male voices sounded forced. But overall, I did enjoy this one. Wish it had picked up where the third book ended though.

Enjoyable

To Robert: Epic ride from beginning to end. To Janace: You are my new favorite narrator. I look forward to the re-listen.

FANTASTIC

I like this series because it scratches that history spanning sci-fi itch I have. It did take a little bit to get used to the narrator, and having already read the books it took a little while further to assimilate where this book falls. I enjoy Robert’s story telling and I look forward to the next book coming to audiobook form.

Thank you for a great story!

This book is a bit of a reset on this series, giving a different angle from the previous book, but I believe this is why I like it so much. It stayed inside of it world and it's created, but expanded it into something that tied together, song hints that came in the last book. I am so thrilled to have more to read from this series. Looking forward to the next one.
