A great story

What made the experience of listening to The Legend of Sleepy Hollow the most enjoyable?

It was short and so I could listen to it with few breaks.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ichabod because he thinks he's got it all figured out on how to get the girl.

What does Curtis Sisco bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He's a good storyteller. His reading is fluid and easy to follow. He pronounces the words well and doesn't make awkward pauses like other narrators sometimes do.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

A twist at the end

Any additional comments?

This was a good story that is about middle school level. It's not particularly one that I feel my 7 year old could follow, but a story I plan to share with him in the future.

Classic Storytelling at its Best

I loved this story as a child but had long forgotten it. This Audiobook is fantastic, well spoken version and perfect to listen to on Halloween night after all the trick or treaters have gone.

A Classic Tale

A classic American horror story that has stood the test of time; this tale is as refreshing today as it has been for almost 2 centuries.

Great Story - Poor Narration

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I wouldn't change anything about the book - its a classic tale!

What didn’t you like about Curtis Sisco’s performance?

Sisco was speaking way too fast. I even attempted to slow it down by going .75 speed but then I got an echo so I ended up listening to him rush through a great story. I also thought he didn't bring enough emotion to the character of Ichabod. Overall, he could have done more to enhance the story but instead I feel he deminished it.

good story, slightly odd reading

this story is great, a classic, and it's short which makes it nice to listen to while commuting. The reading is nice and clear, but it is a little odd. I'm not 100% sure what it is, but I think the inflections and pauses are a little off. it's kind of like hearing an essay being read instead of a story. It didn't put me off the story overall though.

Fun ghost story

Would you consider the audio edition of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow to be better than the print version?

Yes, it was humorous to hear it read aloud.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ichabod Crane, for his appetite and his heart and his longings.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Curtis Sisco?

He was not my favorite but he did not detract from the book.

If you could rename The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, what would you call it?

The Headless Horseman!

Any additional comments?

Short, perfect for a car ride. Has some dated language regarding race that was offensive but not unexpected considering when this story was written.

speed reader

I loved the story, but there were times I felt the reader was running the words together trying to read them quickly. overall it is a great short story to fill the time.
