About this listen

Sometimes love shows up when you least expect it.

Nineteen-year-old Mary Kate Lapp yearns for adventure, but all she seems to find is trouble. Her dreams of travel have taken a backseat to her assignment to teach school this year. And nothing ever seems to happen in her sleepy Amish community.

But when a sudden and unexplained death conveniently coincides with the arrival of a mysterious young man, M.K. is frustrated that no one takes it seriously. She’s determined to take matters into her own hands and get to the bottom of it. Will she find more than she bargained for?

Centered on one of best-selling author Suzanne Woods Fisher’s most loved characters, this is the Stoney Ridge story you have been waiting for. With a surprise at every turn, a gentle romance, and a shocking answer to an old family mystery, The Lesson is the dramatic conclusion to the Stoney Ridge Seasons series.

M K Lapp Learns and Teaches Some Lessons in Book 3

I love this series, and I wish it didn't end with book three! M.K. Lapp is always into mischief with an Amish boy she grew up with . . . and this time it lands her in her worst nightmare . . . teaching school . . . her step mother, Stern Fern, thinks it just the thing to calm the young lass down, who at age 19, is still as dreamy eyed as ever . . . and looking into the sudden death of a local sheep farmer . . . convinced it has something to do with the arrival of Chris who had moved in to the old house bordering their farm . . . little did she know that Jenny, a student in her classroom, was Chris' sister . . . and that there was much more to their story than she could imagine . . . with connections to Old Deborah, an Amish healer who taught M.K.'s sister, Sadie her healing ways, Chris and Jenny, came to Stoney Ridge to reclaim the home left to them by their grandfather . . . working for Amos in the daytime, and restoring the house at night, Chris made a reputation for himself as a hard working and honest man . . . while M.K. continued to choose her battles in the classroom, until Fern introduced her to an old retired school teacher who opened the windows of M.K.'s heart and mind to the miracles in each of her students . . . just waiting to be tapped and appreciated . . . meanwhile back at Windmill Farms, Amos is trying to play matchmaker and thinking that M.K.'s childhood friend, Jimmy might be a good mate for M.K. . . . but nothing is ever what it seems . . . this is a GREAT tale of a young Amish woman with a mind and a will of her own . . . and a precious family coming to terms with the future and the past . . .
