About this listen
Katrina Stoltzfus thought she had life and love all figured out: She was going to marry John and live happily ever after. Those plans started to crumble when her father moved the family to Stoney Ridge then completely collapsed when John decided to marry someone else.
Katrina is devastated. How could she have felt so loved yet been so deceived? As she struggles to face a future without him, a widow asks for her help to start a new business, and Katrina quickly agrees. She needs time to heal her broken heart, to untangle her messy life, to find a purpose. What she doesn't need is attention from Andy Miller, a farmhand who arrives at the widow's farm just when help is most needed - and who always seems to say the right thing and be in the right place at the right time. Is Andy for real or too good to be true?
Deceived once before, Katrina is determined to keep her feelings in check. When a cascade of events is set in motion by some surprising information, the little Amish church is turned upside down. Soon everyone has a stake in the outcome, and the community struggles to find the best response to an imposter in their midst. Can they forgive even the most deceitful deeds?
Best-selling author Suzanne Woods Fisher introduces her loyal fans to a brand-new series set in their favorite town - Stoney Ridge. As always, Fisher delivers endearing characters and plot twists that keep listeners captivated minute after minute.

Welcome to a place of unconditional love and unexpected blessings. When widow Rose Schrock turns her Amish farmhouse into a bed and breakfast, she expects there might be problems. The reaction of her cantankerous mother-in-law for one. Disapproval from the church for another. But what she doesn’t expect is that the guests at the Inn at Eagle Hill will spill their problems into her life and into her heart. She also never expects the kind of help and support she gets from Galen King, the quiet and rugged horse trainer next door. Love, Rose discovers, can bloom in the most unexpected ways.

Not Very Amish
This is a good story, but the character of the people isn’t very Amish. When the adults commit sins, there isn’t a requirement of repentance and confession and a time of penitence, but rather an overlooking of what’s called mistakes.. The children at school behave in ways that I don’t think would be tolerated by the teacher, the parents, and especially the community and Bishop. The romantic relationships don’t show a complexity of emotions, especially for adults. I think an adult knows whether or not they’re having feelings of love rather than a cardiac arrhythmia! There are good parts of the story that made it enjoyable.
I do not like this narrator's staccato delivery. I try hard to overlook it and just listen to the story. I do give her credit for doing an excellent job in showing levels of emotion that the story called for, particularly in one very intense scene.

The Imposter
Mrs. Fisher is one of my favorite Amish authors. Loved this book and am looking forward to the rest of the series. Mrs. Fisher's books have substance to them. The narrator gave an excellent performance as well. Audible books are such an extra blessing to me since I'm blind and listen to all my books.

Loved it all!
I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline, the characters, and the narrator. There were very heartfelt, sad, and human moments, and there were also times where I laughed out loud at things that the characters would do and say. Truly a joy to listen to this book and excited to go to the next one.
