Johanna Parker
Maya and Rebecca Ward are both accomplished physicians, but that's where the sisters' similarities end. As teenagers, they witnessed their parents' murder, but it was Rebecca who saved Maya from becoming another of the gunman's victims. The tragedy left Maya cautious and timid, settling for a sedate medical practice with her husband, Adam, while Rebecca became the risk taker.
After a devastating hurricane hits the coast of North Carolina, Rebecca and Adam urge Maya to join them in the relief effort. To please her husband, Maya finally agrees. She loses herself in the care and transport of victims, but when her helicopter crashes into raging floodwaters, there appears to be no survivors.
Forced to accept that Maya is gone, Rebecca and Adam turn to one another - first for comfort, then in passion - unaware that, miles from civilization, Maya is injured and trapped with strangers she's not certain she can trust.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely! This was a great story line with a little something of every emotion for everyone. What other book might you compare The Lies We Told to and why?
This had a little feel of Nicholas Spark's stories, in my opinion, except that the love story was more of a secondary focus while the friendship & survival events held the forefront. What about Johanna Parker’s performance did you like?
I loved her entire performance. I can't think of anyone else who could have done a better job!Any additional comments?
Diane Chamberlain is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. This book contained a little sample of every feeling imaginable from love, loss, lust, heartbreak, starting anew, sibling rivalry to murder. The one idea that stuck with me is the thought that we should make our lives in the sand instead of concrete so that anytime we decide to change them, it is easily possible. This book was absolutely enamoring from the storyline to the writing technique. The plot kept me hooked from the very first page and while reading you will be fervently gritting your teeth to see how everything plays outSibling rivalry, love, lust, loss, & heartache

The book was very interesting. The drama and the connections between the people were very real. There were some things you could see coming. However, the outcomes after were not predictable and creates hope and the joy of open-mindedness that can bring love and fulfillment.
Excellent

I live in a state impacted by hurricanes & put off listening to this book for awhile, especially since hurricane Matthew just went through. I'm running out of Diane Chamberlain books to listen to so I gave in. I wasn't disappointed!!
Things happen in life, things change after disasters, sometimes it's best to go with the flow.
Another great Diane Chamberlain book
