Jethro finds a woman he thought lost, but her memories have been taken.

She has become a clean.

Aeons govern and regulate the cities that remain on Earth. From their alien veins springs a substance that allows humans to communicate through telepathy. In their minds lurks the power to remove human memories.

Jethro's actions push both him and the clean called Rain into the heart of action and intrigue the likes of which he has never known before.

Very interesting listen

I'm a big fan of science fiction so I thoroughly enjoyed the world Niederriter created. The concept of alien control and "cleaning" as a punishment to humans is genius.

In this listen, Rebecca was cleaned and Jethro was on a mission. And what a mission.

The narrator was okay. He had a good voice and I liked him enough to finish the listen. I don't think he elevated the book though.

Different

The narrator unfortunetly does not suit this audiobook. However, the book is interesting. I found it slow to begin with and confusing but as it progressed it picked up and got more intriguing.
Would recommend.

Short but exciting unique sci fi jaunt

The world that Niederriter has created is definitely unique. Right from the start he dumps you into this strange world where humans coexist with their alien overlords. Technology as we know it is gone. Instead communications networks are fueled, literally, by alien blood. Our protagonist stumbles upon a significant figure from his past only to find this person is not who he remembers. They've been changed. Cleaned out and hollowed. He embarks up on a journey that will take him into the heart of danger and deeper into the mystery that the overlords have tried to keep quiet since their arrival.

The narrator I feel did an OK job. His speech was clear and understandable but I felt it lacked emotion and didn't really elevate or add to the story.

Short but quite good

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was an original and interesting sci fi story. I thought the author does a great job of world and character building. The concept of Cleans was really interesting and, well, thought provocing. The narrator does a good job of bringing this futuristic world to life. I just wish it was longer.
