About this listen

Bobby Pendragon is a seemingly normal 14-year-old boy. He has a family, a home, and even Marley, his beloved dog. But there is something very special about Bobby: he is going to save the world.

And not just Earth as we know it. Bobby is slowly starting to realize that life in the cosmos isn't quite what he thought it was. And before he can object, he is swept off to an alternate dimension known as Denduron, a territory inhabited by strange beings, ruled by a magical tyrant, and plagued by dangerous revolution.

If Bobby wants to see his family again, he's going to have to accept his role as savior and accept it wholeheartedly. Because, as he is about to discover, Denduron is only the beginning.

Just as great as I remembered

The narrator is awesome. I couldn't help but continue to listen through the night!
Him being enthusiast with it made it so much better.

Great young person book.

I read this book the hard way back in middle school. I downloaded it because I really didn't have any other books in mind. I'm glad I did.

Narrator can be rough, but fun story.

The narrator can occasionally be a bit nasally when voicing Bobby. His female voices are also samey and not very well done. It does capture a teenage boys tone and inflection quite well though!

nostalgia at its finest

I read this series as a teenager and I still enjoyed it, the voice acting on the narrative was a bit underwhelming and the author loves the term "what happens next" other than that it was a real good story

The voices for Bobby and Mark come off as whiny

When the narrator does the voices for Bobby and Mark they come off as super whiny for some reason. Alder is about the same age as them and the narrator does him fine so it was a purposeful choice for Mark and Bobby.

Great story.

It was a fun ride. i enjoyed the characters. I thought the stakes seemed a bit small though this is probably because it is the first book in a long series. Excited to see what is next.

fun story and series. blah Performance

I loved this series when I was a teen and felt like revisiting it through audio. same fun story. however I felt the performance was kind of cringy and made the hero sound like a huge dork not sure if I can listen to anymore of the audios in the series now...

Great series, greet narrator

It feels good to go back and relive a story from my childhood, with Ole Bob the builder as the narrator. Rest in piece William Dufris.
