About this listen

From New York Times best-selling author James Rollins comes a lightning-paced short story in which a major attack on US soil can be stopped only by..."The Midnight Watch".

In the dead of night, a faceless enemy hacks into the Smithsonian Institution's network of servers, but it is only the first strike masking a larger attack. To rescue a biologist trapped in the National Museum of Natural History and to discover the true intent behind an assault that grows bolder and bloodier by the minute, Sigma Force must unleash its most headstrong operative - Joe Kowalski - to do what he does best: lay waste to anything between him and his goal. From a daring rescue to a cross-city chase like no other, Kowalski will discover the shocking truth hidden in the most unexpected of places: the heart of the National Zoo.

Included with this short story is a sneak peek at The Bone Labyrinth, where events that unfold here explode into one of Sigma Force's greatest adventures of all time.

Great short story in the Sigma Force saga

Definitely for Kowalski fans and takes a slightly different approach than the longer novels. Narrator is so easy to listen to.

A short teaser for the next Sigma novel

Short but fun story, as all the Sigma stories are. The best part is, not unexpectedly, Kowalski being Kowalski and leaving a swath of destruction and less than pristine condition bad guys in his wake.

Recommended for Sigma fans and adrenalin junkies.
If you are neither, then you won't appreciate it quite as much.

Very enjoyable

The narration was excellent. Very enjoyable. Made it easy to submerge into Rollins' sculpted universe.

Too short to appreciate his type of writing.

I was shocked to learn this book was basically only two chapters. A little disappointing just due to that fact.

A little steep $$ for just over an hour

If you're a diehard Rollins fan, wait for the price to go down, if not don't bother. I feel cheated & played.

Narrator's pace was difficult, had to replay the beginning 3 times to get the gist.

However, I am still looking forward to the next book. 😜

Bit of a Rip Off

The short itself was decent enough w/ average narration, but not for the price. Especially considering a good portion of the title was an excerpt from an upcoming book... You're barely getting an hour of good story, then some teasing of the new novel.. Given this not worth a credit or the price...

Poor volume, tone, and inflection.

These short stories to market new books are off-putting. Not an easy audio book to hear well.

So short for the price

I love the Sigma series, but this was deceivingly short. I think main story might not of been more than an hour with the bonus/tease story at the end just as long! The main story was good, but I feel like I was fooled.
