worse narration ever

I did my best to like this book, because I planned to listen to it on a long drive ... but I don't think I got past a chapter or two, because the narration is so awful. I've never heard worse. In addition, the background music -, why was it even necessary to have background music - was too loud. The narrator stumbles over words that are not difficult to pronounce, it sounds like there was no practice or effort prior to recording... that it's a cold read. Narration makes it extremely difficult to understand the story. I wanted to return it and get my money back but I couldn't figure out how to do it. So I'll suck this up as a lesson learned to never get this narrator again.
