Do you want to live ? trilogy

I really enjoyed this book by Hamilton and loved the characters of Breanna, Cassius, Derek, Clara and Levi. Both Cassius (an ER doctor) and Breanna (a psychiatrist) experience near death and Cormac asks do you want to live, both eventually recovers at rapid and develops special powers and glowing eyes. They are trying to understand their situation and have used them to help save people and now meet Lachlan who wants to teach them about their powers and how to use them. This book has a lot of humor especially due to Levi (Brenna’s ex), Brenna who is trying to help rival Amber control her powers, but she also needs help controlling her own and tries to keep Siegel in prison, finds out who is the mother of his daughter who is exhibiting she will also have powers (unknown yet). I would like to see more with these characters. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you

A great trilogy - fast paced and intense:)

I first listened to all three books in the trilogy separately and wrote my reviews for each individual book (so go to those, if you'd like to read them whole) - here are the most important excerpts from them to give you a glimpse of what I think of the whole set:

BOOK 1 - The Moon Thief:
The first book of the new trilogy introduces us to Dr Breanna Perry, a psychiatrist working on a daily basis with criminals - the inmates of San Quentin, to be exact - so she's not a woman who gets easily scared. But when she is involved in a car accident which almost ends her life and then miraculously comes back to full health in not more than two weeks, well, nothing is as it was before any more... The strange events, things she can now do, unexplained small incidents - all this seems to get to her...(...) The plot is really fast, with the paranormal elements woven into the story in such a way that you do not doubt or question their logic (...) I also like the characters created by Ms Hamilton - and I don't mean in the sense I think they would be great friends; I like the way they are constructed; not all are amicable and friendly, some are grumpy, some irritating, some are simply vile and some quite nice - but they all feel real, three-dimensional people. (...) Another thing I like is the pace of the story - it starts off quite slowly, quietly in a sense, and then it speeds up until the last chapters feel like a rollercoaster ride... It's a great ending, making you want to jump right into book two:)

BOOK 2 - The Moon Walker:
Let me start with saying that I liked the book quite a lot; Ms Hamilton is a great writer, able to catch your attention and keep you glued to the pages all night long. And it is true about this book as well - when you start, it'll be difficult for you to take a break. But what is also true is that if you're looking for a fast-paced asventure full of twists and turns, this is not what you'll get in this installment. This part is mainly about Breanna coming to terms with what she has become, trying to tackle a "normal" relationship with Derek and finally understanding that she isn't normal any more and that her life can't be normal either.... And that is excellently done:) (...)

BOOK 3 - The Moon Mage:
The Moon Mage, the third and last installment in The Moonlight Trilogy, is a very good ending to the set.
Breanna is still learning how to tackle her powers, having panic attacks from time to time (which make me cringe, really:)) but finally finding a way to get herself under control. Cassius, while fighting his own demons, slowly becomes her pillar of strength. Both are finally able to decide what they are and what they are not (sorry for the slightly mystical description, but I want to avoid spoilers:)). The overall plot of this part is - as was also with the previous two books - fast paced, quite complex, with a few great surprises. The final scene, wonderfully written, while allowing for further stories to develop totally closes this particular story line - which I like because it allows ME to decide if I want to continue with the universe or not:) (...)

MY OVERALL OPINION: As you can see, I liked all three books in the trilogy a lot. I think Ms Hamilton is one of those wonderful writers that are able to grasp your attention with the first scene and never let go until the series ends. Also, she's great at creating characters that grow, develop, change with what experiences they have right from that first scene to where the story ends... Her characters seem to be one of the biggest strengths of her books, right next to the ease with which she creates her worlds, with a few sentences, a few pictures drawn with her words...

And talking about strenghts, narration by Ms Hazen definitely adds a lot to the impact the series makes on the listener - it obviously does for me:) As I have already mentioned numerous times (and here's a self-quote):
Narration by Ms Hazen as always adds gravity to all the characters - the irritating ones seem even more irritating (to the point you'd like to punch them:)), the sweet ones sound even nicer, and the evil ones are really creepy:) And as usual, the pace of her reading is just the right one (or even if you speed it up a bit, you don't lose anything in the process, such a clear narration it is:)).

So, if you like a fast-paced set of books, with quite a bunch of really intriguing characters that develop and grow and make you feel and think a lot, this definitely is a set for you - grab it and enjoy:)

Do you want to live?

The Moonlight Trilogy Box Set is an absolute gem! M.L. Hamilton weaves a mesmerizing tale that pulls you into a world filled with intrigue, romance, and supernatural elements. Each book builds beautifully on the last, creating a rich tapestry of characters and plot twists that kept me on the edge of my seat.

Kelley Hazen’s narration is nothing short of spectacular. Her voice brings the characters to life, capturing their emotions and personalities perfectly. The pacing is spot-on, making it easy to get lost in the story for hours. Whether it’s the tension of a climactic scene or the tenderness of a romantic moment, Hazen delivers with finesse.

If you’re looking for an engaging audiobook that combines a gripping storyline with exceptional narration, look no further! The Moonlight Trilogy is a must-listen for fans of fantasy and romance alike. Highly recommended!

An Awesome Listen

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and found it extremely entertaining. This Trilogy is excellent. Almost dying can be a new start for your life if you're lucky sometimes or unlucky depending on your outlook. Just imagine having a car accident and then waking up as super hero. The characters have unique and interesting personalities and the story line is intriguing and is wide open for interesting plots and mysteries. This series has something for everyone, suspense, drama, mystery, humour and a touch of romance. The author has a special talent to create characters and stories that feel real and the narrator brings every story to life. This combination of author and narrator creates pure enjoyment. Looking forward to trilogy.

Great Read

The Moonlight Trilogy Box Set was a great read M.L. Hamilton. This box set consists of; The Moon Thief, The Moon Walker, and The Moon Mage. The Moon Thief (The Moonlight Trilogy Book One) was a good read by M.L. Hamilton. Breanna Perry is a psychiatrist for San Quentin. Nothing in her time there prepared her for Cassius Teran. Cassius believed that he's no longer human. Breanna must cure Cassius of his delusions before he goes to San Quentin forever. A strange man starts following Breanna, and she must come to terms with the fact that the world may be more complicated than thought. She has to come to terms that under the moonlight there may be strange creatures in the shadows. The Moon Walker (The Moonlight Trilogy Book 2) was a good read by M.L. Hamilton. The night Breanna almost died, changed everything in her life. While she was in the ICU, Cormac O'shea came in and turned her life upside down. At least she had Cassius, he had strange abilities and understands what she's going through. Unfortunately he removed himself from her life with her relationship with Derek. She now faces the fact that she will out live everyone important to her. The Moon Mage (The Moonlight Trilogy #3) was a great read by M.L. Hamilton. Breanna Perry got a second chance at life, after a car accident almost killed her. Cormac O'Shea asks her if she wants to live; but she never would've guessed what she would lose in the process. Breanna is now faced with leaving everything behind and accepting that she is immortal. She is trying to help her rival, Amber Wright, navigate the superhero world. Alan Siegel, a murderer at San Quentin, may wind up getting out of prison. It forces her to face the possibility that he could go on a killing spree. Cassius has quickly become the most important person in her life. Unfortunately his ex-wife ends up popping back into the picture. I loved the life that Kelley Hazel brings to the characters. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author. The Moon Mage (The Moonlight Trilogy #3) was a great read by M.L. Hamilton. Sounds like it’s being read by a robot.

I can’t get past chapter 6. Good story so far but narrated horribly!

I’m disappointed, and I had such high hopes from the reviews I read. Unfortunately, the narrator ruined this for me. Too bad we can’t get refunds if you can’t get through at least 10 chapters.
