About this listen

Originally produced in 1971 and updated in 1995, the NASB has been widely embraced and trusted as a literal English translation. Now, the NASB 2020 improves accuracy where possible, modernizes language, and improves understandability. These refinements maintain faithful accuracy to the original texts and provide a clear understanding of God’s word to those who prefer more modern English standards. The long-established translation standard for the NASB remains the same as it always has been, that is to accurately translate the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts of the Bible into modern English that is clearly understandable today.

Narrated by Larry Williams, who is committed to communicating the word of God clearly through his narration of the Bible.

The NASB has been produced with the conviction that the words of Scripture, as originally penned in the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, were inspired by God.

Great Narrative Style and Audio

I have found this narrator easier to listen to than many other Bible narrators. I am listening to this version for many hours as I read a long with the narration. I do not get tired of the calm and steady voice of the narrator.

Ok audio quality, 2 books in KJV

The audio quality is not consistent from one book to another. The narrator is good, but how they have EQ’d his voice is different from book to book.

Also, 25 of the 27 New Testament books are from the 2020 NASB, but Galatians and Colossians were a different narrator and were from the KJV. What is up with that? I haven’t checked the entire OT, but to have any part of this audio recording in the KJV is not okay.

Engaging.

I enjoy reading my NASB 2020 Bible accompanied with the narration of Mr. Williams on a regular basis. It has been a great investment and reading my Bible along with the audio narration is time well spent. I just would like to bring to the attention of the editors the fact that some New Testament books are not in the NASB 2020 version and apparently not read by Mr. Williams either (Colossians is an example). Also, this may be picky, but I can hear the clicks of the mouse between some of the verses (like in Psalm 105:4). Thank you for putting this work together. I highly recommend it.

you realize the Book of Obadiah is missing from this? You took out a whole book of the Bible. no matter how short it is, this is wrong.

Mostly good except

The readers voice is easy to listen to, it is word for word the same as the paper version. The except is it needs to be listed as books of the bible and chapters as it is in paper form instead of chapters 1 thru 1190. There is no way to identify specific books and chapter quickly, For example Psalm 1 is Chapter 480.

Would not stay synced

I had to delete and reinstall the app everyday to get it to sync at chapter breaks. I like to listen to some Old Testament and some New Testament each day so I don’t go straight through. I had to search for chapter beginnings or reinstall to sync. I switched to another program.

Most of the errors have been fixed this month

Galatians and Colossians are now NASB 2020 (they had been KJV), and Psalm 118 is there now, but the book of Obadiah is still missing. Also, as reviewer JQShopper mentioned, the chapter listing does not show the Bible books and chapters (it did last month before the other errors were corrected). Other than those errors this audiobook is good, and Larry Williams does a good job narrating. I have been using the NASB translation since the 1970's and I really like the 2020 update. Thank you, publishers, for making it available as an audiobook.
