About this listen

When 10-year-old Andy Warwick witnesses the murder/suicide of his sister and father, his world is torn apart. Twenty years later, despite his tragic childhood, Andy's a highly respected police negotiator based in North Sydney. He's living a comfortable life, but still suffers from guilt-ridden nightmares from his past and yearns for a family to replace the one he lost.

Sixteen, pregnant and abandoned by those she loved, Cally Savage learned early to fend for herself, but raising a son on her own hasn't come without a price. It's a decade after Jack's birth, but she's struggling to make ends meet, despite taking on a second job as a cleaner at the North Sydney Police Station. On top of her financial woes, her house has recently been burgled and she's terrified the perpetrator might return.

In desperation, Cally turns to the hot-looking detective at the station and seeks Andy's permission to place a roommate wanted advertisement on the noticeboard in the squad room. Attracted to Cally's innocent beauty and intrigued by the vulnerability in her eyes, Andy offers to move in with her. The more he gets to know her, the more he wants to be part of her life. But first, he has to break through the barriers she's erected around her heart.

Just when things appear to be on track, the man who believed for more than 10 years that his child had been aborted discovers Cally's deceit. Enraged, he vows not to give up until he's found his son and punished the woman who lied to him.

Thank you Aiden Snow!

These books are so much better when the right narrator is reading. I enjoyed the story line and the subject matter. This book is about Andy Warwick who is a police negotiator. He's made this his life's work because at the age of 10, he saw his father shoot and kill his baby sister and himself during a stand off with police. His mother takes her own life because of depression and leaves him alone in life. He is put in the foster system, but run's a way and ends up living on the street. He is taken in by a man and wife who influence him in a positive way that helps him change his life. He meets Cally, who had a child at the age of sixteen, and her background is kind of similar to his. She finds herself abandoned by her parents because of the pregnancy and is put out on the street. Her aunt takes her in and helps her throughout the rest of her life. When her aunt dies, she and her son are once again alone in life. When Cally and Andy get together her son is 10 and has no idea about his real father. Of course that's when the real father comes back into the picture and he is very unstable. He didn't want Cally to keep the baby when she first became pregnant and later finds that Cally has kept their son a secret. He had gone on with life and married and had another son with his wife. Turns out that wife and son died in a car accident that was caused by the mother being drunk. This is what may have caused him to become unstable, but I think there is more to the story even thou we didn't read about his life. Anyway, he finds out about his son with Cally and wants him. This leads to a standoff with the police and of course our negotiator Andy. I would have liked to hear all the stories in this series, but some are narrated by two other readers and they are terrible! I was so happy to see Aiden Snow was reading most of the books because I could not tolerate those other readers! God help my ears!

Thr Negotiator

The Negotiator is the 6th book in the Munro Family series by Chris Taylor. Great story. Narration by Aiden Snow was fabulous as always. He always adds something extra that hooks you in the story. Add his deep sexy voice to an excellent story and you can't go wrong. I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys suspense romance. HEA and no cliffhanger. .
