About this listen

The BRAND NEW pulse-pounding cat & mouse thriller from INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER Gemma Rogers

How can one 12-hour night shift be so deadly?

I loved the anonymity, flexibility and solitude that working the night shift at Storage Queen gave me.

The unsociable hours paid well, helping me fund my university degree and giving me a quiet place to study while the world slept peacefully in their warm, cozy beds. It was the perfect job for me.

But that Friday night proved to be more than I bargained for when a man walked through the door, dragging a large suitcase.

My immediate instincts told me something was wrong.

That’s when my ordeal began.

I just had to make it through the night shift.

A pacy, heart stopping thriller for the fans of Shari Lapena and Lisa Jewell.

Gemma Rogers and Imogen Church absolutely rock. Edge of your seat story. Set aside enough time to read/listen in one sitting!

Fabulous story!

Are usually do not leave review audiobooks, but this one is extraordinarily bad. The problem is the performance. At times it's almost impossible to understand, and I lost story at some point. Too bad, because I usually like Gemma Rogers. I will never ever buy a book again with this narrator.

Impossible

I loved this story so many lessons and much to take away from. It was unrealistic but that’s why I love fiction so much. And of course the narration was the best of the best.

The attention to being diabetic

I usually really like this author but this one was a little overdone. How many times can Nina have the upper hand and not go in for the kill? Don’t just hit the bad guy and try to get away…kill him.

I absolutely loved The Night Shift by Gemma Rogers! The narrator, Imogen Church, did an incredible job—her ability to switch between voices and make each character stand out was amazing. The intrigue kept me hooked, and I never knew what was going to happen next. The twists and turns had me completely invested, and at times, I even felt sorry for some of the bad guys (well, not the bad bad one, but you know what I mean). If you’re looking for a suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat thriller, this one is definitely worth it!

Loved it from start to finish

The storyline was okay. I did not like or dislike the main character, but the author's overuse of the words insulin and blood sugar was too much. I mean we get it, she's diabetic. I felt more like the author was on a quest to make everyone aware of diabetes instead of writing a story. I would pass on this one.

Just Okay

I was so excited for the release of this book because I LOVE all of her other books, but this one dragged on and on. I started to get a refund but didn’t because I was confident it would get better, but no such luck.

A fantastically immersive and thoroughly mesmerizing book. The plot is quite conceivable, but still manages to deliver many unexpected twists and turns. Having spent 30 years working the Night Shift in a psychiatric hospital, I immediately identified with the protagonist and her situation.

I can imagine a very effective streaming series adapted from this novel. Perhaps each episode depicting one hour of the shift?

I will be eagerly awaiting the author’s next effort!

'Rear Window' meets 'Die Hard'…

Not my favorite from this author. Great narration but the story got repetitive. Almost escape, get caught, almost escape, get caught. After so many times, I was just ready for it to end. And many of the scenarios weren’t really believable.

Not bad but seemed to drag on

The book was extremely repetitive and quite boring. Very disappointing, I usually enjoy this author. Not sure she put a lot of effort into this book.
