About this listen

Yes, you'll laugh your ass off! Yes, you'll want to listen to this quirky unpredictable novel all in one sitting! And, yes, you'll recommend it to your friends and maybe even your enemies!

In The Nothingness Imperative, author Herb Guggenheim captures life at the bleak onset of the Trump era and he does so with biting wit and startling clarity. But The Nothingness Imperative is more than just satire: It's a probing exploration of all that keeps humanity from the brink of despair. The book asks: In these troubled times, why not give up? Why not annihilate ourselves and hence the universe? The Nothingness Imperative provides some surprising answers.

From the back cover:

Washed up English professor and recovering narcissist Skip Gershwin doesn't expect time travel to be a part of his daily life. Nor does he anticipate becoming a member of a nihilistic death cult. But when a mysterious silver cylinder falls into his possession, his life path takes a series of bizarre turns. Sought after by an elusive cult leader, a band of impudent millennials, his laconic girlfriend, and a duo of unorthodox federal agents, Skip is forced to confront a disturbing truth - The Nothingness Imperative!

A funny and exciting read –I couldn’t put it down!

This book is a fun and entertaining read. The Nothingness Imperative is a great reminder that, even when times seem hopelessly dark and when human nature seems hopelessly flawed, A sense of humor will get us through and keep us sane. Its intelligent humor is just what this chronic pessimist needed right about now. I finished it too quickly.

Witty and creative

It's a creative mix of science fiction and reality. The character development is excellent. It has elements of political commentary sprinkled in to a creative story line. The narrator also did a good job of capturing the characters.
