It took me awhile to finally get into it and I’m glad I did . I see it’s part of a series so I have to start the next one . Love a good story with a great twist .
I enjoy a lot of Ruth ware and Stephen king and this reminded me of both in a way

This book was not at all what I thought it would be but in a good way! Allison has no idea her what her boss and lover has been involved in until he is arrested and she is framed for his crimes! The science behind the genetic mutations and changes were interesting and believable enough to flow with the story.The back and forth between the Colony life to what is happening in to Allison as she tries to find answers and clear her name kept me very engaged and wanting to know what would happen next. The ending was was not at all what I was expecting but I should have because all the clues were there!! This was a great book! The narration was spot on! The narrators did a great job keeping each character separate and entertaining. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

I really like this thriller! It plotted and churned its way through nail biting scenes that had me at the edge of my seat. I had guessed a huge plot point about half way through it and was correct about it by the end; and I want to say that it was a really cool and great concept thought out by the author that worked as a perfect plot device used throughout the book. I was really impressed with the presentation/timeline of the story; I highly recommend this book and I will definitely be reading the next book in 'The Colony' series.

I absolutely loved the story and the performance of the two readers. I was originally concerned that the plot would be over my head as I have no medical background. This could not have been further from the truth. I was engaged and looking forward to my next listen every single time I hit the stop button. Extremely well-written, intelligent and suspenseful. I thought the ending was one of the most creative I've heard.

An absolutely amazingly well written book! In a not-too-distant future, experiments are being conducted to alter the DNA of people. Pain Colonies are set up to train and condition them. I don't want to give away the plot, but suffice to say that you will have trouble putting this book down once you pick it up! The ending leaves you begging for a sequel, or at the very least, a few more chapters. Well written and highly recommended!

This audible is fantastic!
Under the disguise of a pain clinic funded by billionaires, there's genetic research, illegal of course, and experiments conducted on people.
A rollercoaster ride of a story, gripping edge of your seat thriller that won't disappoint!

Both narrators did an excellent job, they worked very well together

This is a book with a complex storyline.
A gripping story of Billionaires, medical research corruption and murder.
This is a page turner that will keep you up late.
Narration is excellent a great team.

This is a hard book to review. It is not pure entertainment. It is a thought-provoking novel that looks at where science may be headed. It’s clear that the author knows genetics, and it was no surprise to read on her website that she has a pharmaceutical background.

Parts of the story were difficult to listen to, but this made them all the more compelling. It is an accurate portrayal of how people can be convinced to believe anything. Don’t let the first scene put you off; this is NOT a book about a religious cult!

The main characters were interesting. At times I was frustrated with them and wanted to tell them to wake the heck up. But their naïveté contributed to the impact of the story.

There was quite a twist near the end. I had briefly considered the possibility of this twist, but dismissed the idea because it didn’t seem possible. But it was possible, and the author pulled it off brilliantly.

The ending was satisfying, although a bit unsettling. I look forward to the sequel.

The audiobook used dual narrators, which worked well. Noah Michael Levine and Erin deWard did a great job. (I did need to slightly speed up the narration during Erin’s parts and then slow it down to normal for Noah’s. I noticed that another reviewer mentioned this.)

This book was on my wish list, and I was fortunate to receive a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest review.

Oh my gosh! This book was fantastic! I loved every second of it. It was strange, quirky, original, and oh so suspenseful! By the time I got to the end I was saying - "Are you kidding me!?!?!"
I can't wait to read the next one in the series - With Pain Comes Peace.

Great character development. I loved Leyla (a young woman who was living in "The Pain Colony") she was so sweet and innocent. You later learn that her innocence was stolen from her :-(
Also Allison I ended up liking very much but did not like her at all in the beginning.

Audio Review - Great! I though both did a fantastic job. I don't always like the narration and it sometimes ruins the book for me. But this one I really liked listening to - Great job all around!
