About this listen

A missing heiress. A trip to Paris. Can a gentleman-turned-footman convince the runaway beauty that at least one man in her life is worthy of trust?

An homage to the beloved Georgette Heyer, this clean and wholesome Regency romance follows the adventures of a runaway noblewoman, a conniving uncle, a foppish cousin, a loyal gardener, and an abandoned empress.

When Gyles suddenly disappears in The London Rose, I knew there was a juicy story behind his quick exit, and boy was I right!

I listened to the audiobook of The Paris Footman, and I adored the narrator’s voice, who does a masterful job of bringing this story to life. The characters are engaging, and it was so nice to see Gyles get his happily ever after as he was a favorite of mine from The London Rose. Though this novel can stand on its own, I do feel like the depth is greater felt by reading the first book in the series as they both tie into one another seamlessly, thanks to the incredible writing talent of Rosanne Lortz.

Having first read The London Rose, it was a refreshing take to see the story told from Louisa and Gyles’ perspectives while also telling their unique story. The flow of this novel is deliciously satisfying as it almost takes you back through book one through a different lens. This was not what I was expecting at all, but I found it quite entertaining nonetheless.

Seeing what Louisa was going through puts her in a more favorable light than she was in the first book and I was pretty surprised with how intense the final confrontation was. Listening to the book on Audible made it all the more vivid in my imagination and really put me there. I especially loved the happily-ever-after with this novel as it felt more deserved since it had already been building since the first book.

The Kendall House series has been such a joy to read so far, and The Paris Footman was no exception. I can’t wait to see the story continue in book three!

I liked that the heroine didn't wait for her uncle and fate, she took action that would change her future forever. She had strength of character and intelligence. I also liked that she got a second chance with an old spark/flame. He was so enchanted with the heroine that he became her footman to help protect her. Their love story is just like a fantasy you read about. I liked that they finally overcome their obstacles and found their hea. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did a good job bringing the characters and story to life.

I received an advanced copy of ‘The Paris Footman’ several months ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Gyles’ caring nature made him instantly likable, as he consistently went above and beyond to ensure Louisa’s happiness. Although Louisa appears spoiled, her backstory evokes compassion.

The audiobook, narrated by Maria, brought the characters to life. Her French accent and language, pronunciation were impeccable, It was much more fun listening to it than reading it because of that particular reason.

I was given an early copy of this audiobook for free and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

This was an enjoyable romance. Gyles and Louisa’s love story was beautifully written, and they were both incredibly easy to root for. As always, Maria Nicola Johnson’s narration added an extra layer of charm, making this Regency tale even better. A fantastic book two in the series!
