Rudolf Steiner
Originally published in 1894, Rudolf Steiner's Die Philosophie der Freiheit was considered by Steiner to be his most enduring work above all others. This is the first English translation, which was done in 1916. Two years later, in 1918, he revised it to be more in line with The Theosophical Society's philosophy. In many ways, this edition is truer to his spirit then all other translations, including some of the modern ones.

However, the audio is not well edited. The start of most sentences is cut off, making certain passages harder to understand and detracting from the overall ease of listening.
As an audio engineer, my guess is that a noise gate was applied to the audio to cut out background noise between statements, but with too high a threshold and too long an attack, causing the start of discrete audio segments to be cut off. I still am listening through, but it is not as pleasing as it could be.
Audio poorly edited, but fantastic content

The work itself is very interesting and concerns freedom of will, dualism, monism, being, evolution, and spirituality. It is an original philosophy that draws heavily from a lot of thinkers. It is useful to the individual who aims to analyze spiritual enlightenment.

The book itself is something I want to reread and listen to until I understand what Steiner was teaching. One way or the other it is probably Steiner’s best book.
I've just listened to this a second time. I'm going to listen to it a 3rd time soon. I encourage the reader to produce and read more Steiner books. I will buy and enjoy them.
