About this listen

Allies and enemies are not always what they seem.

Trapped on a hostile world, hunted by pirate bands, and abandoned by her fellow captains, Alexis Carew must lead her small band to safety, even though it seems every hand is set against her. Stalked by pirates in the skies above and shadowy alien figures on the planet below, Alexis must convince former enemies to trust her even as she discovers where the tendrils of her true enemies lead.

Love this series - absolutely love it. It's fun and has lots of action. The narration is excellent as well.

Great series - best one yet!

This is the second time I listened to the book. That is after reading it twice.
Warning - this is a continuous story to the 5th book, more so than the entire series, and can't be read and understood before reading the 5th book at least.

I recommend the entire series (and yes Mr. Sutherland - we (all the fans) will hold you to releasing the 7th book by the end of the year.

The series is well-built, including the universe and characters. It is a funny reading and in this book - there is a definite Spaceball moment. You will know it when you get there.

This is less of a review for the 6th book as for the entire series, since any who finished the 5th will pick up this one.

Read, listen and enjoy

Great book, loved the ending.

The science, or rather the science fiction, of this series is off putting for those seeking pleasure in potential future technologies. However, any such displeasure is clearly their loss.

The characters come to life and richly reward the reader, or listener, with a well developed universe that reflects British naval sensibilities from the times of life under sail.

If you seek fully developed, and internally consistent, story telling, then you will embrace this series as the pleasure it is.

One also will enjoy the outstanding qualities of the narration.

One of the best universe you may escape into.

this book is a good look into England wood ship days in a modern story setting of space . The story is purely fun to listen to .

I loved this book it's got the usual swashbuckling adventure story, but this time it's not as sad. as usual the narrator was great, I can't wait for book 7!

I was so disappointed in the cliffhanger ending of Privateer, that I only reluctantly purchased The Queen's Pardon. I enjoyed it so much that it changed my opinion of Privateer just by association. The first two books in the series made me love Alexis. This book reminds why.

Completely redeems Privateer
