A lovely book for quilters!

What a lovely story this was. I didn’t expect much thinking that the quilting theme was going to overpower the story. But it was a lovely story with great characters and if you are a quilter you will really enjoy how quilts were ‘sewn’ into the story. Enjoy!

This is my favorite book and story by far.

Beautifully written, and beautifully told. I was sad when it was over. I wanted more.

enjoyed completely

If you could sum up The Quilter's Apprentice in three words, what would they be?

A really good listen

What other book might you compare The Quilter's Apprentice to and why?

I think I will enjoy this series as much as I did the Benni Harper series by Earlene Fowler, even without the mystery.

Have you listened to any of Christina Moore’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

If you could rename The Quilter's Apprentice, what would you call it?

Like the name!

Any additional comments?

As a long-time quilter, I enjoyed the gentle instruction woven into the fabric of the story. The reader did a fine job of keeping the characters separate. I could "see" them while I listened.I am looking forward to the other books in this series.

Wonderful story of friendship and Family.

Great book about friends and their love of quilting. And family and roots and life.
I love the friends interaction and the descriptions of the quilts made me want to see what all the quilts looked like and makes me want to move “learning how to quilt” up on my bucket list.

Balm for the soul

Below is the review from 2005 when I listened to this wonderful book the first time. I started a challenge this year, to read a book set in each of the 50 States. This one was perfect for Pennsylvania and I was happy to find it on Audible to add to my library. I listened to it the first time and really like the narrator, Christina Moore. I remembered aspects of the story but enough was fuzzy in my memory that it was almost like listening to a new book.
I like the aspect of how Elm Creek Quilts came to be, with this book introducing most of the characters and the setting and premise. The characters are nice, salty, gruff, sweet, have enough issues to work through that the story moves along at a nice pace and kept me in the driveway or parking lot to listen to just a bit more.
I still want to visit Elm Creek Quilts Camp and learn to quilt, meet these characters and sit in the gardens.
The book is a balm to the soul.
I can definitely recommend this book, series and author.

Inspired me to Quilt

I read some horrible reviews on this book, but I have to say I am glad I went ahead and got the book. This book inspired me to learn how to quilt... it also made me want to join a quilting guild like Sarah did.
