About this listen

The Furyck Saga continues with this exciting fifth volume in A.E. Rayne’s epic fantasy adventure!

Escaping Hallow Wood with a wounded Thorgils, Aleksander and Jael find themselves stuck in Harstad, desperate to get the Book of Aurea back to Andala before the dragur find them again.

Waiting in Hest for Eadmund, Evaine is oblivious to everyone’s worry over Morana, who is showing little sign of recovery. Jaeger is panicking, knowing that without someone to read the Book of Darkness, they are defenseless, vulnerable to an attack from Draguta, should she return.

In Andala, the sickness has taken hold, and more and more people are being carried into the ship sheds each day. Helpless to contain it, Axl and Gant are working hard to repair the fort, making plans to meet the Vandaals, unaware that a new enemy has emerged to threaten them all.

And still bound to Evaine, Eadmund is on his way to be reunited with her when he hears another voice in his head, calling to him....

Well done. Enjoyed the development of a very convoluted story line, societies and personalities. Good series. Hope “Vale of the Gods” ties it up the loose ends.

Wonderful story, yet I wish that the reader had paused between the different storylines! Sad because I have not heard Finty Williams do that before!!

Pause Please

I found this series seeking more books with Finty Williams as the narrator and have become invested in this story!! The spins and turns of this battle between good and evil is enthralling, never predictive.

Loving this saga!

I won’t say with full confidence until I finish the last book, but my gut right now says this book should have been the last.

I love this series overall and was initially really enjoying the angst and anxiety of Eadmond and Jael’s situation, but at this point it’s become a bit annoying with how long it’s dragged on. This book had some good nuggets, but didn’t do enough to impact the plot or move things forward for the length of the books.

As with the others, performance was phenomenal!

Withholding final judgement…

Good lawd, this story is gonna put me in the ICU. It's thrilling, heartbreaking, full of angst, and so stressful, but so very good!
Again, Finty does a great job, but I would like to hear more definitive voice inflection at the end of a scene for a smoother transition. Some of her voices for tertiary characters are unisex in tone, making it hard to determine who's voice is in the scene.
Other than that, I love this story!
(On my 2nd relisten) Book 5 is ripping my heart out, my eyes are welling up just typing this. Even on my second listen when I know what's going to happen, doesn't damper the visceral dagger shredding that vital organ.

Streeeesssssss Enducing

Obviously a good read but this is a filler book to lead to the end.

If you have followed this is the underwhelming book. No bad but not as exciting as the others.

There are no pauses (space) between paragraphs to start... Was almost in the book 1/3 until the editing became tolerable. Please do not think this was on the narrator, (fire the editor) I think this is it for me, and I have to tap out. There are decent characters, but the storyline is thin and pathetic.

When every problem is solved by dreaming, it is no wonder that the story will put you to sleep.

Incredible bad editing first portion of audiobook

It just goes on and on... there's no mystery a lot of by the way these two have a past and though it's never mentioned now they're a thing; relationships aren't built... and Jael's love interest is just straight boring.

meh, I should have stopped at book one

I initially really enjoyed this series. I find myself now only finishing it because of wanting to see if Eadmund ever gets saved. The plot doesn't seem to grow any from book 4. Draguta sends more monsters, Edela and Eydis use the book to stop them with a lot of mishaps along the way.

It just drags on and on.
