About this listen

"Happily Ever After" wasn't supposed to come with a do-over option. But when my husband of 20 years packs up and heads for greener pastures, and my son heads away to college, that's exactly what my midlife becomes.

A do-over.

This time, though, I plan to do things differently. Age is just a number, after all, and at 40 I'm ready to carve my own path.

Eager for a fresh start, I make a somewhat unorthodox decision and move to a tiny town in the Sierra foothills. I'll be taking care of a centuries-old house that called to me when I was a kid. It's just temporary, I tell myself. It'll just be for a little while.

That is, until I learn what the house really is: something I never would've thought possible.

As my new life begins, a couple of things become immediately clear: Forty isn't too old for adventure. Not by half. It is too old to take crap from anyone, however, or care what people think.

I had no idea how incredibly freeing that could be. Or how dangerous this new life would become.

I have a chance to start again, and this time, I make the rules.

NOoOOooo! It's Over

WOW, just wow. where to begin.

First of all it's over. 😭😭😭 WHEN is the next one coming out, because I will be hoovering that one too.

So, first thought about Magical Midlife Madness is holy cats it is hilarious!! So many times I laughed out loud and caused side eyes from my husband and my kids. At one point I was laughing so hard I was crying and crossing my legs so I wouldn't piddle myself.

Second thought is that it is an amazing story! I love how powerful the main character is. She might second guess herself here and there, but she knows who she is, and she is amazing.

Thirdly, Niamh is hilarious! And the play between Mr. Tom, Niamh, and Edgar is extremely awesome/hilarious/sweet.

All that being said I LOVED this book, I would recommend to anyone, and cannot wait for the next book!!

OMG, Narrator

It’s a good story, but the narrator is def on a massive amount of stimulants.
Not sure it was the intent to cause massive anxiety, but it did.

Recommended by a friend of mine, and...

Okay this might be paranormal ‘women’s’ fiction, but you’re gonna have to share, because I’m a 41 year old guy that fell in love with this series in about 3 chapters, and finished the book in like 2 days. And this recommendation is going to end up costing me 5 credits now, because I have to find out where it’s going from here

A wonderful distraction during a self quarantine.

This was a great listen. I now am hooked and need to get the rest in the series to find out more! I fell in love with the characters as they evolved. I laughed and loved the sense of humor.

Love KF Breene books

This book was awesome! Especially loved the humor and how the MC was just a typical middle aged woman, starting out again in life after a divorce. Listened to Audible and the reader did an amazing job telling this story!!

Laugh out loud funny

I loved this book. it was hilarious. For some reason the story line supposed me, I guess I mistook "Magical". Actually it made the better and funnier.

Very Funny

Great listen! Narrator does a really good job with the character voices and nails the snarky humor. I do have one issue with the storyline that occurred in the first book. Possible spoiler alert, I guess. Jessie embraces the house’s magic but refuses to let the magic be a fountain of youth because she totally owns her maturity and doesn’t want to be young again. In the next breath she negotiates with the house that it should leave her as she is, except her boobs, which should be perky again, and no more stretch marks, because really those things were her son’s fault. And just no more aching and popping joints, too. So, basically she wants to be young again! Anyway, don’t think too hard about it and it’s a laugh out loud listen. Her Irish old lady neighbor whose name I don’t know how to spell is really funny and Nicole Poole delivered her hilariously. Totally worth the time and credit.
