Centuries after the legendary Robin Hood, a group of men and women find themselves fighting for the same cause. In this battle for freedom, a tender love story begins to blossom. Daniel, a rogue and a leader of the Freemen, doesn’t realize that the sweet, feminine woman he has met - and is falling - for happens to be the leader of Robin’s Rebels. Realizing the importance of uniting all the rebel groups, Daniel tries to recruit Robin’s Rebels, but they refuse. Now he has to find a way to convince them. When he finds out the leader is actually a woman, what will his reaction be?

A fun clean story!

Daniel meets Robin at the local market and feels an instant attraction. Although, at first Daniel only knows her as Marie.
Mrs. Clarke does an excellent job giving a physical description of her characters. This book has lots of adventure, humorous situations and a sweet, passionate romance. Carolyn Kashner gives a delightful performance doing a great job with the accents.

Refreshing clean romance

This was an enjoyable, clean romance. I liked that I could cheer for Robin and Daniel because they were good people that really cared about the welfare of others. I liked that Robin was a girl - I love a good strong female lead! I listened to the audio version of this book, and I thought the narrator was decent/good - my only complaint is that she sometimes came off a little robotic, but it wasn’t bad. Overall, though, an entertaining and enjoyable book perfect for readers of clean romance.

More and more rebel groups are popping up in each town, among them The Freeman, led by Daniel, and Robin's Rebels, led by Robin. Daniel intends to merge all the local rebel groups to create a force large enough to overthrow the king, but Robin's Rebels remains a holdout. When Daniel challenges Robin to an archery contest to determine whether or not the groups will merge, he doesn't realize that the masked man he challenges is the beautiful woman he recently met and fell for.
I really enjoyed this lighter fantasy romance, it was a nice change of pace from more hard core fantasy but also had more drama than a traditional romance. Robin and Daniel were characters you want to root for, and there were also many side characters with large personalities like Robin's father. There were so many funny scenes that put a smile on my face. It was an entertaining listen!
The narrator did a great job, I've listened to her before and her narration is always enjoyable. She has a calm easy pace that pulls me into the story. I received a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

Any additional comments?
The Rebels of Cordovia is a very entertaining and enjoyable Robin Hood story. It has action, adventure, and a little romance. It also includes a little mystery due the disappearance of the son of the former king (years before the story begins) who was beloved by all. Where is he now and why hasn’t he returned to Cordovia to overthrow the tyrant who is ruling over Cordovia with an iron fist and who taxes his subjects into extreme poverty?I became engaged in the Rebels of Cordovia and characters almost immediately. The heroine is the daughter of the local baker, who also leads a small group of vigilantes that fight for basic freedoms and rights. Like the legendary Robin Hood, they steal from the rich and give back to the poor. The story is basically how she and another vigilante leader unite all the various rebel groups and overthrow the vile king. They also fall in love in the process.
I listened to the Audible version of this story narrated by Carolyn Kashner and enjoyed it tremendously. She did a great job narrating with varying voices for both male and female characters. Thankfully this story is the first book in The Rebels series by Linda Weaver Clarke, so I can look forward to listening to other great adventures in this compelling audiobook series!

What I liked about this audiobook:
• A classic tale of a suppressed people fighting for freedom.
• I liked the storyline. It reminds me of a recounting of a tale. Most of the story is told simply.
This recording has a little hiss in it. The narrator is able to do both male and female voices. Her voice is young sounding.
The writing seems to be geared towards teenagers and young adults.
I just could not connect with this story. It did not pull me in. I don't know if it is the story or the narrator.
At my request, I was given a free copy of this audiobook from the narrator. I have voluntarily left my review and my opinions were my own.

Fiction but this book grabbed me right away and took me back to s Robin Hood era. My kg regret was that Robin wasnt incognito more often or for longer. Other than that the performance was top notch and the story moved along quickly and excitingly. I couldn't believe the twist at the end!!!! A great audio read
Charming and exciting

I enjoyed this twist on Robin Hood. The best part of this series was definitely the characters. I found myself fully rooting for Robin Marie and Daniel, and I particularly enjoyed the part of the book where they were competing against each other. I loved the plot of the book, and I was completely surprised by the ending, which I didn’t see coming at all.
My major complaint is that the first half of the audiobook had quite a lot of background static, which could be quite distracting.
