About this listen

Out of Many, One

In this era of poisonous partisanship, The Reunited States of America is a lifesaving antidote. At a time when loyalty to party seems to be overpowering love of country, it not only explains how we can bridge the partisan divide but also tells the untold story of how our fellow citizens already are doing it.

This book, a manifesto for a movement to reunite America, will help us put a stop to the seemingly endless Left-Right fistfight while honoring the vital role of healthy political debate. Mark Gerzon describes how citizens all over the country - Republicans, Democrats, and independents - are finding common ground on some of the most divisive and difficult issues we face today.

Naive and simplistic.

He spends most of the book trying to convince us to just get along and that it is already happening, and never once addresses the bad actors and foreign governments that are purposely lying and trying to divide us for their own ends and how to combat that. His list of things to do could have been given out by one of my primary school teachers (and probably was). It would be good if 100 percent of voters acted like he suggests, but not at all real. And the transpartisans he talks about are fairly fictional. Country before party almost never happens at the national level, and hasn't for at least 10 years. if this guy is one of the leaders of the "transpartisan movement" and advises national leaders on how to work together, then no wonder things went so horribly wrong (based on what he says here) in 2016.

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
