Publisher's summary
When fear stands between you and your enemy, what do you do?
Alex hasn’t left the safe confines of her home in three years. Instead, she’s thrown herself into her career as an archaeological researcher with a prominent British university where her archaeologist father works.
But then, her father disappears under sinister circumstances while working on a case. With his fate in her hands, forced out of hiding, she battles her worst fears and travels to the last place he was seen alive: Tanzania, Africa.
Tasked to go with her, the inexperienced Sam Quinn joins her on an action-packed adventure through the treacherous African Savannah, where an abundance of danger, fear, and heartache confront them head on. As they come face-to-face with sabotage, crime, and betrayal that will test their inner strength and will to survive, the pair takes on an enemy they never saw coming.
Join their adventure and travel from the luxury of your favorite armchair to Africa in this gripping tale that you can't stop listening to!

If you like Indiana Jones then you'll enjoy this
The RHAPTA KEY: An ALEX HUNT Adventure Thriller (Alex Hunt Adventure Thrillers Book 1), my third read from author Urcelia Teixeira. An enjoyable 310-page/5-hour 40-minute suspenseful Christian thriller.” If you like Indiana Jones then you'll enjoy this read/listen. I own both the Kindle & Audible editions so I read along while enjoying Gary Bennett's narration. I received a free Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author and since I own the other six books in the series it will be easy. Next up The Gilded Treason An Alex Hunt Archaeological Thriller (Alex Hunt Adventure Thrillers, Book 2). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Alex Hunt’s action filled origin story
Archeological Thrillers are on of my favorite genres, and having listened to The Rhapta Key, I’ve now discovered a new series/heroine I’m wanting to follow. Not only was this story action-packed, but it painted such a vivid picture I could almost imagine it as a movie. Alex Hunt is a character who has her flaws but is capable of overcoming most of them when she has no alternative. Gary Bennett’s narration really brought this story to life, each of his voices fit the character.

Great Story & Narration
Love archeological plots, the history of lost civilizations, along with the tension and adventure of being in unfamiliar countries was well done by the author and narrator
A test for her, having isolated herself within the walls of home, The love for a father stretches her mentally and physical, could we have done it. Of all places Africa, a place of wonder, yet unfamiliar. The audio by Gary Bennett definitely added to the tension and I enjoyed. Given audio for my voluntary review

A Great Adventure with Alex Hunt!
Alex’s parents are prominent archaeologists with the British university. Alex has grown up traveling all over the world on archaeological research with her parents and has been trained by them to be the best.
Yet Alex has been traumatized by the death of her mother on an expedition and has not left home since. Until her father disappears near Tanzania, Africa. Alex is determined to not lose another parent by her inaction to help.
Fighting overwhelming fear she travels with Sam Quinn to try and find her father in the treacherous African Savannah.
The adventure weaves the story with segments of things that happened in the past to understand story as it unfolds now.
Alex has to learn to conquer her fears as she faces sabotage, crime, and betrayal in order to save her father.
The twists, and turns will keep you turning pages as you are surprised with things you did not see coming.
I think you will really enjoy the adventure, I know I did!!

As exciting the second time as the first!
I do have a bit of sometimers so maybe that is why I didn't remember the full story this time around. But I have to say that having someone narrate the book instead of reading it yourself gives you a whole other aspect. This is the first Alex Hunt book and in it she meets Sam Quinn. They are great main characters and bring lots of suspense to the story. Alex's parents are also in this book and it is actually their archeological trip that ends up needing Alex and Sam. There is lots of action in this book too as well as romance. I really enjoyed listening to this book and intend to listen to more!
I received a free code for this book from the publisher to listen to on Audible. This review is my own honest opinion.

A Great African Adventure
So much covered in a relatively short book, fear, family loyalty, old and new friendships, respect, love, loss, kidnapping, betrayal, murder and yet not once did I feel the story was rushed. Beautiful descriptions of Africa in a stand alone satisfying adventure with a bit of the very unexpected thrown in!
This was the first time I heard narrator Gary Bennett who was just right for this book, also well paced and not hurried, his different voices consistent to the various characters.
I look forward to more from Urcelia and Gary.

Archaeology plus adventure. . .part 1
An archaeological adventure that starts off with Alex being scared of leaving her home but leads to a wild adventure to Africa. She and her friend, Sam, weave back and forth from past to present while working through several twists and turns.

Searching for a legend
A family's search for a legendary lost city, kidnapping, and murder - what more does a mystery need? An adventure through Africa, reminiscent of Indiana Jones! I recommend listening!

The Rhapta Key
I have listened to this audio book twice. Full of intrigue and mystery. I also like that it is appropriate for all age groups. Would highly recommend this book to everyone. I have also read this book several times. I have enjoyed reading all of Urcelia Teixeira's books.
