Publisher's summary

With the ascension of T’Aer Bolun Dakkar, a new king now rules the northwestern dragon kingdom. In the unseen world of dragons, even kings must prove themselves worthy, and the appearance of challengers is inevitable. As Jake and T’Aer Bolun Dakkar work tirelessly to address problems plaguing both dragon and human civilizations, dragoneers and eco-terrorists seek to derail their efforts at every turn.

Their search for lasting and peaceful solutions to an impending global disaster are further complicated by a billion-dollar bounty placed on their heads. Nevertheless, they are determined to achieve a balanced ecosystem that supports both dragons and humans, even if—at times—it puts them at odds with both species. Though the obstacles are many, the bond between Jake and T’Aer Bolun Dakkar is a powerful one that will be tested to its very limit, all while attempting to keep the veil separating humans and dragons firmly in place.

A Boy Becomes a Man and a Dragon Becomes a King!

Gone is the timid little savant. Jake and Turbo are no longer hesitant to take the steps necessary to save Mother Earth, and the harder they work for progress, the more determined their detractors are to stop them. Fast cars, cruise missiles, and Columbian kingpins are all on the daily agenda of this dynamic duo, to say nothing of a few Yakuza assassins. Laughter, tears, jubilation, and reflection are all cooked up to perfection by Riano McFarland and expertly served by AC Oliver, whose narration is once again superb. All that, plus dragons like you've never experienced them before. An all-around success and entertaining series. 5 stars, of course!

Another fantastic story

Jake’s Dragon book 2 “The Rise of the King”. Riano D. McFarland continues to captivate his fans. Jake and his dragon T’Aer Bolun Dakkar have grown up to be a powerful dragon and human team. In this book they encounter many dangers and together they solve problems and help not only mankind but all creatures on our planet. Dani, Jake’s wife unexpectedly bonds with Tika and hybrid dinosaur/dragon they find on Ninjalla. A beautiful remote other dimension island. When tragedy strikes Jake and Dani’s home Dani reaches out to Tika for help by opening a portal. Tika and her fellow dinosaur/dragon hybrids enter through the portal and save the day. Great story and great performance.

Great Book

The author writes about all the problems our society has with pollution, Greed and Power of the few who control it. I love the ways these problems are handled in this Story and wish we had a way to correct it too! Narrator does an amazing job with the various characters voices and the entire storyline.

Society's Problems

The Rise of the King is a well written book geared towards kids but discusses issues we face today, like pollution and greed. The narration is amazing and really brings the story to life. Fabulous sequel, great story!

Excellent storytelling, picked up where book one left off. Epic tale of a genuinely selfless decent human and his bonded dragon and their efforts to save the planet... highly recommend!

Looking forward to book 3

Really enjoyed the book. All climatic scenes delivered without being over done. I look forward to sequels. A good sequel really defines a story.

Utopia

Ahh, to live in Jake and Dani's perfect world along with T’Aer Bolun Dakkar. Good sequel to Book 1. Great book for kids who have not acquired the jaded perspective of life today. Nice to enjoy a good story without the sex and language and minimal violence.

good second book

was it good second book with incredible narration good story continued with the great character development can't help but care about these characters loved that one of the villains from the last book made a reappearance. only downside to this book was the whole story felt very rushed as it's a little shorter than book one in the series definitely not enough to make me not want to listen to it glad I got the book can't wait for the third one
