About this listen

Raine rejoices when her family is reunited, even though Talan, her dragon soulmate, still sleeps. She continues to train with the dark revenant to prepare for the return of the Sinister. A malevolent book yields tantalizing clues on how to defeat this powerful enemy.

In the Underworld, Hel fumes as she is denied access to the dreams of her Consort. Raine was gifted to her by Fate, then torn away by the same. The Goddess will make the entire mortal realm suffer to regain what is hers, ignoring the monumental risk in her actions.

All of Arianthem struggles with the strange taint left on the land. Elves, dwarves, the Ha’kan, all endure the malaise left behind by the Sinister. But no one bears the brunt more than the Empire. The lingering attack is devastating as a brutal cult rises, then thrives under its influence. The entire realm is in disarray, ripe for plunder as the witches return.

First time listen to audiobook for the Chronicles

Wow first I want to say, stunning performance by the narrator, truly spectacular. She managed to do so many distinctive voice and added life to these characters so well. Second, I love how event of the very first book managed to make it way back again in this book. It felt like forever ago when I first picked up the series and was never disappointed.
I'm going to get more audiobooks for this series and reread again.
For the last few books we haven't heard from Talan but I never felt lost per se, because all of the other characters are so huge in their presence and especially Raine. Never have I read a book where the lack of presence from the love interest still managed to pull my attention so much. I love Raine's journey and her growth, this story has started with Raine and it continued with her even though we have books for other characters. The second chronicle felt like a full circle, everything Raine and Talan did in the first chronicle was for this reason, the unity against a force much too powerful for any individual to face alone. I read this series when I was much younger and in a way I felt like I was growing with these characters too, I don't know how many more chronicles there will be, I'd just enjoy as many of these morsel of joy as I can

Stunned beyond recognition

Samantha Sabian is trying to kill us loyal readers with the new cliffhanger. I have so many questions and screamed when the book ended because now I have to wait. I just how the next one is coming soon. Her books are just amazing and send you through a whirlwind of emotions. By far the best stores i have ever read. the narration brings the story to life that I know makes Samantha Sabian proud.
