Ann Burton, author of the critically acclaimed Abigail's Story, traces Rahab's incredible journey from harlot to heroine. Shorn of her hair, stripped of her clothes, and cast out of her father's house, Rahab now scavenges the streets. Desperate for food, she's soon welcomed by the sisterhood of the House of Palms, a bordello. But after encountering two Israelite spies, Rahab makes a risky, life-altering choice.

Beautiful
Wonderfully written I cheered for the heroine at every page. The book is fast yet like a dip into slower times. Worth a read.

Any additional comments?
The story keeps you in suspense always wanting to know what happens next. This was the first time I have listened to Tanya Eby and I thoroughly enjoyed her characterizations.

great story
Not to give too much away.... hint very small spoiler alert. I never thought the story would kill off the main character in the beginning. The story took turns I did not see coming. I hate stories that you can see the next three turns in the tail. This story keeps you wanting more. I even wanted more of t he normal day life at the end of the book.

The ability of women to perform if given the opportunity
It was interesting, engaging and good description of the period when it was happening. The corruption of the clergy, the desire for power at any cost. Enjoy learning about the way history was recorded snd the processes to create the parchment.

Great Story, Lame narrator
If the story had not intrigued me so much, I would've stopped listening because of the narrator. I recommend reading this book to avoid listening to her nasal, ridiculous attempt at a male voice. Really good book!

Dreadful book - don’t waste a credit!
Dreadful book. Terrible writing. Thin characterization, by a writer who never met a cliché he didn’t like. While I did consider that some of this might be the fault of the translator, the bad prose just kept grinding along. Gave up a third of the way into the story. Life is too short.
