About this listen

1940, London.

A man learns a shocking truth about his past.

Warsaw.

A mother writes a diary as the ghetto walls go up.

From the bombed streets of London, to occupied Warsaw, to the Polish forests bristling with partisans, will their paths cross? Will their pasts be reconciled? And will they survive the deadly assaults on their freedom and their lives?

The Seamstress of Warsaw is a tale of endurance and loss, family and blood, stories and histories that questions the nature of who we are and where we are going when the road ahead is burning.

I wanted more....

This book has a very slow rhythm. The diary entry style of writing is full of deep introspection and sadness. I think it's important to experience a story like this, though. It declares complexities of humanity and the horrors of war, and the war we call discrimination that is always with us. I wish the conclusion had been more robust. I had to look twice to be sure it didn't skip ahead somehow because it was very abrupt. I also would have benefited from historical notes.

Excellent

Exceptionally performed by both narrators! not crazy about the ending (or rather, lack thereof) but otherwise highly enjoyable!

Engaging story with excellent narration

The two narrators were excellent and brought the tale to life. Well worth the listen.
