About this listen

Frederick Brotherton Meyer (1847-1929) was a Baptist pastor and evangelist in England involved in ministry and inner city mission work on both sides of the Atlantic. He was a friend of D. L. Moody and A. C. Dixon, and the author of numerous religious books and articles. Referring constantly to scripture in "The Secret of Guidance", Meyer calls on believers to examine their inner motives, to consider how they ought to be receptive to God’s guidance. The book emphasizes spiritual formation and the practical application of Christian precepts in daily life.

I throughly enjoyed the many needed applications where guidance is needed. The priority of truth verses faith verses feelings was of particular of importance. Listen to the book.

We all need it

Simply: wow. And in well under 100 pages. Absolutely phenomenal what Meyer has accomplished with this very straightforward and practical work. Brings to mind the saying, "If the author had more time, it would have been shorter." The wisdom in this work must have been gleaned over - what seems to be - many lifetimes.

Immediately, one of my (new) all-time favorites!
