About this listen

Extinction New Zealand returns in the much-anticipated fourth novel of the bestselling series.

Welcome to New Zealand: golden beaches, forest-covered mountains, pristine water and exotic bird life. A safe, friendly place to raise your family.

Not anymore.

All that was before the Hemorrhage Virus decimated the population. Before the survivors fled to the islands to escape the new and terrifying apex predators—the Variants. That was before Operation Utu launched to reclaim their land.

Ten years have passed since they took back their country. Ten years of hope, rebuilding and surviving. But while Jack, Dee, and the Renegades focused on creating a new, better civilization, evil was busy too. And evil doesn’t forget.

While away on a mission, Jack is shocked to learn that Dee and their son Marco have been kidnapped by unknown foes. As he races to locate them, the home they sacrificed so much for comes under attack by one of their own. Now the clock is ticking to keep their sanctuary from collapsing forever.

Great to hear Raphaels voice again. He really brings Jack and Dee to life.
Set ten years after book three, we find New Zealand rebuilding still after the Variant scourge nearly wiped them out.
I really enjoyed this installment. In terms of storytelling, I think the author has improved. The action is more intense, the characters each have an individual voice.
Alexander Soren-the villain was brilliantly written. Even though she was evil I could understand her.
Loved the Maori culture and use of the unique kiwi vernacular! makes a nice change from everything being American.
More please.

This time it's personal...

What a follow up to the third book. Definitely worth the wait. Just when everyone thinks they're safe and recovering from the variants and collaborators they're hit with a new threat that could be the end of New Zealand! Hopefully, there is a book 5 coming!

Jack and Dee return!

But, every story doesn’t have to end with hugs and kisses.

Of coarse, that’s just my opinion.

Adrian is a great storyteller.

I strongly suggest you pick up The Sixth Law Audible audio book for closure to the Kiwi Variant story.

The series is great. But, start from book 1 if your new to the Variant world.

The Extinction Cycle will give you a great leap into the Variant timeline.

Original story by Nicholas Sansbury Smith.

The following is an idea. Or a hopeful request.

I wish a writer would take the chance and end on a doom and gloom ending.

Actually, the perfect ending could have been both.

A choose your own adventure style on the last 3 chapters.

That would be completely original and incredible! As far as I know.

I would love it!

Hope you read this Nicholas Sansbury Smith!

You are the right author to start this new Final Countdown style of writing.

I don’t know what else to call it.

Adrian, I’m looking forward to whatever storyline you take on for your next project.

Sincerely,

D- a dedicated reader.

Nice ending to a long series. Adrian did a great job taking readers into the variant world.

The way this book series was written was tremendous. One of my favorite. A great new prospective using new Zealand as the setting.

With this being set in New Zealand and the different dialects it keeps a fresh spin on the extinction cycle. I really enjoyed this next book in the series. There our new story lines that are believable in the Extinction Cycle World. Give it a shot.
