Publisher's summary

The entire four-book Extinction Survival series in one box set

War has a way of following some people....

John Eric Carver and Shrek are a retired Navy SEAL war dog team, now living in the mountains outside of San Diego. Both man and dog thought their life was now settled, finding peace on the 40-acre ranch they had moved to. But life, and a mutated virus, changed all that.

Now, they have to survive a worldwide pandemic. Taking refuge in a nearby Boy Scout camp, Carver leads a group of teens and their parents as they are forced to deal with infected creatures that are rapidly consuming the world. Will John and Shrek survive another war, or will this be the end of the line for the SEAL team?

The enthralling Extinction Survival series is a harrowing story of a man and his four-legged best friend trying to survive at the end of the world. Join the army of fans that fell in love with these characters by owning the complete series, offered in a box set for the very first time.

Very Entertaining

I always enjoy the extinction cycle books. these character are well developed. I absolutely loved the inclusion of the dog. giving him a German accent tickled me pink! The narrator is good but isn't my favorite. Many of the characters sound alike. He often emphasizes the wrong word, often at the end of a sentence, in a way that is jarring. it bugged the hell out of me. All in all it was a great boxed set.

Expanding the Extinction "universe"

First, I must say I rather enjoyed the writer gave the (West Coast) side, of the stories over arching events. Secondly, it's nice to see my home state of Arizona referenced. The thought the story was pretty good. The characters were likable and you sorta falling in love with them?.. The writing style was very similar to the Prime-Story so you didn't have that issue of different. story telling. The narrator (Bronson Pinchot) was very good! He has a commanding voice and so you instinctively listen to every word! I love character driven stories far more than other styles of writing.
However I was more than a few times finding myself getting ahead of the plot. Many parts were fairly predictable and saw them coming. But It didn't make me enjoy the story any less!. One other thing the draw back the dogs perspective was MEH! Totally unnecessary. So giving him a human like interdialogue was pretty dumb to me. Sorry. I did love his character though..
Overall the story was pretty good, but not prefect. If you love the Extinction Cycle series you'll probably enjoy this one as well!. 3 out of 5 stars.

Brilliant

Story line can be a little slow to get to the point but lived the series.

Narrator is great, his voice for Carver and Shrek is on point.

Shrek is brilliant! Wish there was more of it.

Thank you to Walt for waiting till the last book and for bringing Shrek back through Spectre, best ending EVER. Cried like a baby but was sooo worth it!

Prepare to yell at the characters

It’s been a long time since I cried, laughed out loud and yelled at a book. This series kept me totally captivated for days. It had no dull areas no blank fillers. No stupid people. All the characters were fully developed even the bad guys. I cried for Shrek. I cried for Rex, Kylee and Carver. I laughed for Spector. What a winner!!

Good plot but narration was off

I really liked the story, I only had one complaint about the narration when the guy tried to make the military guys sound like WW2 drill instructors. It was very corny sounding and the parts he tried to stress were over the top with anger, I am not sure the author was trying to convey those portions that way. other than that a really cool story line.

Hmmm

I'm sure I'm not the first to point this out but these are not zombies.

An awesome spin off to my favorite series

Walt Browning does justice for this great series and Bronson Pinchot continues to bring the story to life.
