Publisher's summary
Vincent’s past threatens to overthrow his future. The solution? He’s about to find it in the storage closet at his friend’s wedding.
All single dad Vincent is expecting from his friend’s wedding is a good time...not an irresistible older omega named Mal who slips into his heart as quickly as he slips into his bed. With a job relocation to the city on the horizon, a relationship isn’t off the table, but there’s a catch.
There’s something about Vincent’s past his prospective lover needs to know - something he’d rather leave behind.
All chronically single Mal wants is to have a family. The solution? Take matters into his own hands....
At fifty years old, Mal has come to accept he'll never find a partner, but won't back down from starting a family of his own. Desperate to get pregnant, he enrolls in a clinical trial for a fertility drug with promising results....
....only to find himself under the care of an all too familiar face, Dr. Vincent Rhyne.
The Solution is a 90,000 word contemporary omegaverse MPREG novel featuring a quirky group of single dads, fabulous revenge, an ice-cold shower that'll have you overheating, and a unique take on love perfect for two men who don’t quite fit the mold.

Story
Toby Andrews is a busy, forgetful, scatterbrained musician with ADHD, a precocious dog named Ruffles, and a bad rep for partying too hard. When Toby’s actions put an all-important contract with a large label in jeopardy, his manager sarcastically suggests the omega needs a keeper who'll redden his bottom if he steps out of line. Toby is intrigued, so when he sees an ad for a discreet company called Rent-a-Dom while scrolling his social media page, he impulsively sends a request for a Daddy Dom to help him stay on track.

Story
Matt Russo knows better. Everyone does, but no one knows better than an attorney who routinely works with the fae: you watch what you say, or else you find yourself in the crosshairs of trickster magic. Or in this case, with an angel on one shoulder and a demon on the other. And the ridiculous bickering celestial beings aren’t going anywhere until they help him change his perpetual single status. Worse, if someone finds out he used magic for any kind of gain, his personal and professional reputations might never recover.

Kade has seven days left to live...unless I do something about it. I am one of the best assassins around, after all. But...I’m not sure I exactly care what happens to Kade. He’s rude, only cares about himself and his casino, and did I mention he doesn’t know a single thing about video games? Okay, okay. Maybe that’s not enough of a reason to watch him dash headlong into danger while I kick back and enjoy the show.

Conor: It starts with a drunken text pic. The kind I would normally never send. Only, instead of it going to the flirty hotel bartender, it goes to some random stranger who actually responds. Wells: The first thing I notice about Conor Newell when he sits down in my high-rise conference room is how delightfully nervous he is. Then I see his tie. The same geeky tie that’s held hostage on my phone. The one that belongs to my anonymous late-night texter. And it changes everything.

Trust no one. It’s a lesson Seth Cooper lives by. So why is it that when he meets Tad Rutledge, all he wants is to be wrapped in his strong arms and forget about the world? It’s insanity and Seth knows it - every second he’s not on guard is a second he’s at risk - but the kindness in Tad’s eyes makes him want to believe happiness is possible. Only the truth is far more complex. Seth can’t let anyone love him. Not now. Not ever. Not if he wants to survive.

Getting into the vampire-only detective unit was the easy part. What’s going to be more difficult is dealing with my new partner - an ancient vampire who keeps threatening to eat me. The unit has never had a human in it. Marcus - or, as I like to call him: Fangy McFangface - would really prefer to keep it that way. He’s grumpy, short-tempered, and broody, but I have a way with words, and I know he’s starting to like me, even if he swears he’s not.

Story
Harrison Phillip Fletcher III isn't supposed to be here. Not in Burlington, Vermont, not running Vino & Veritas, a quaint inclusive bookstore and wine bar, and definitely not still alive, at 42. Also not supposed to be here? An unexpected delivery of chickens. Finn Barnes knows chickens. The burly organic farmer knows all about rare breed poultry, but dealing with a hot older bookseller is an entirely different matter. City-slicker types like Harrison never end up staying in Vermont for the long-term. They should steer clear of each other. But the flare of attraction is mutual.

I loved it
This one warms every nook and caranny of my heart and soul. I was so happy for Mal and
X verity!!!! They both deserved love and happiness in their lives. Their strength and courage to love and be loved was awe inspiring. This one is soooo emotional, and I loved it all, and the support of the single dads group as usual the cherry on a love sundae!!! Looking forward to the next book. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.

This is my first time reading and listening to this book, and I will say this is my favorite out of the series so far. The plot, characters, and everything else was really interesting. For some reason I don't exactly have a whole lot to say, but I really enjoyed this book.
* Spoilers *
I will say that the Daddy/boy dynamic between Vincent and Mal was an unexpected surprise. In the beginning during the closet scene I suspected there would be some sort of dominance and submissive dynamic between them, but it went in a direction that I wasn't expecting but really seemed to suit them. I really liked Vincent as a character and Mal as well. Despite what had happened in their pasts, they have been able to get past it and make their own future and happiness. I found that Vincent is a rather funny character and had me laughing at some of his comments with the single dads group and Mal (which I've pretty much always liked him in the past conversations in book 1 and 2, along with knowing his humorous side to his character). I wasn't exactly expecting the whole twist of Vincent's character and what he used to be. I suspected there was something up during the first night Mal and Vincent slept together, like maybe he was a beta or something, but to learn he used to be an omega was very interesting. I think this is a first time for me reading about what would technically be a transgender aspect/character in a book. It was really interesting learning about his feelings and what he went through, and I honestly feel bad that everyone back at his former home didn't accept him for who he truly was and that his ex-wife was so toxic and gave him a hard time for what he had decided to do to make himself happy. I do have to agree with Mal that just looking at him you wouldn't expect him to be anything but an alpha, but he has different aspects compared to other alphas, such as his deep understanding of omegas and his nurturing side to him that I really liked about his character. Mal and Vincent really fit each other, and I'm so glad that they both have found someone who appreciates and loves them for who they are. I honestly think that Nikki will be understanding of the truth to how she was born when Vincent reveals it as I don't see any way that she would resent Vincent for trying to be happy along with the comment she made about her mother not understanding that different people need different things to be happy. I honestly don't know if knowing the truth would make her feel negatively towards her mother or not (especially since it seems like her mother has said some mean comments about Vincent when she is around Nikki and Nikki seems to suspect something had happened that made Vincent leave their home), but I understand why Vincent wouldn't want to influence her decision on the matter. I am curious on how he decided to marry his ex-wife in the first place and on what drove him to that decision and what changed between them that ended up with him having Nikki and then making the transition to become an alpha. Was in just verbal and emotional abuse that he experienced? Did his ex poison his former work place as well which was why Vincent now has a barrier between his work place and his private life along with why he was so nervous about his private life potentially being exposed to his new colleagues? Did he really raise Nikki all by himself? Did he have the divorce before or after Nikki was born? I also can't really get an understanding of the former dynamic between Vincent and his ex since his ex is most likely an alpha woman and he used to be a male omega, how does that exactly work with conceiving a child....? It's probably best I don't know or it might be rude to even be asking this....
I was a bit sad that Mal's children won't be biologically related to Vincent and Nikki, but that honestly doesn't matter since not being blood related doesn't make them any less of a family. I am looking forwards to seeing this family again in the future. I will admit though I was hoping Mal was less than 50 so that he would be able to have more time with Vincent, Nikki, and their children. I also highly doubt Mal will want to become pregnant again or if it would even be possible to get pregnant again at his age since he has already achieved his dream of having a family.
There were a few things I didn't understand. The interaction between Mal, Everett, and Caleb in the elevator for instance. Mal had said they were acting like teenagers even though they are in their late twenties. Was their comment about finding Mal a hookup because they were making fun of his age or the fact that he was wanting to have children despite how old he was? That whole interaction was confusing, rather disrespectful, and seemed to hurt Mal, so I had hoped to have gotten some insight on what had happened in Mal's point of view.
There was also the whole interaction with the omega doctor ( which I forgot how to spell his last name) who seemed to suspect Mal and Vincent of being in a relationship. I know this doctor appears in book 5, so I have an idea of what was going on, I'm just confused by how he behaved. On one hand he seemed to be really curious on Vincent and Mal's relationship and I'm pretty sure with how much he stared at them and a few moments during the clinical trial between Mal and Vincet and than his confrontation with Vincent, I'm pretty sure he has figured out that they were in a relationship. On the other hand he seemed to sort of resent Vincent for some reason if he was trying so hard to make Vincent confess about what was truly going on. Or maybe he was interested in Vincent and was disappointed that he was already taken? Would he have went to the higher ups about it or would he have kept quiet about it seeing how much Vincent and Mal care for each other. I'm curious if he was curious about the fact that in his eyes an alpha and an omega are in a relationship but the omega is taking a clinical trial to get pregnant and the alpha is doing all he can to act like they are complete strangers while going with the trial to get the omega pregnant, wouldn't that cause curiosity for anyone about what was going on? He also seemed completely aware about by the fact that Mal was wearing a certain device and seemed even more depressed after that, which he would have known the reason behind that was to help with the pregnancy and it wasn't abuse, right? I honestly am confused about all of that, but I hope when the omega doctor needs help in the future, Vincent will welcome him with open arms and they can be on more friendlier terms with each other.
The conversations between the single dads was just as good as the previous books. I also loved the fact that they finally got to meet in person. I think that Harley must have set up a camera that connected to his phone, which was how he knew that Laurence and Alex were coming through the door. Maybe he had cameras in other places as well with his comment about Mal and Vincent suiting each other? That comment he made about Mal and Vincent suiting each other was a bit confusing on how Harley came up with that conclusion/knowledge, hopefully we get some insight on that in the next book. I am curious that maybe Vincent and Mal's wedding might be in Fiji or somewhere else like the group had been joking about vacationing to. I also wonder if everyone is actually aware of each others names or they just prefer to go by their handle names/nicknames from the group instead, or it's just habit now. I am also interested in learning more about Harley and especially Knot, as they both seem like really interesting characters, who I think are hiding just how lonely they truly are. I loved seeing the group interact in person and would have loved more scenes with them all together, but I'm happy with what we got and maybe we'll get more in the next couple of books.
On a side note, Nikki is going to get her heartbroken since her crush on Matthew is one sided and there is a huge age gap between them, and I'm pretty sure Matthew is interested in men and not women. On another note, how does someone in this world figure out if they are alpha, beta, or omega? How come we've not seen any character who is a beta since everyone seems to be either alpha or omega? And I'm calling it now, Leah the actor of Nikki's favorite show is Harley's daughter. That is why he knows so much about the show, could have given Nikki something from the show, and would have laughed if Vincent had asked questions about the show in person.
*Narration*
The narration was really good in this book. The voices fit each character really well and I especially loved Vincent's voice. I think this is a book I will definitely come back to. The intimate scenes were very hot and the narrative heightened the hotness of the scenes. The narration also heightened my enjoyment of this book.

Not my favorite Piper Scott, but still entertained
I'm giving this a 3.5 rounded up to a 4.
The good: Once the story got rolling, it totally held my attention & I binged the last 75% or so of it. There was a definite level of suspense and, beyond my liking of Mal & Vincent, the book succeeded in keeping me invested. I especially really want to know the other remaining Single Dads and other potential characters for the remaining books. I've already purchased the next audiobook b/c I need to know these characters better. (Plus Michael's narration is sure to be good, even if this almost entirely male cast stretches the limits of his character voices, he does an admirable job of keeping everyone distinct. I will say I would've liked Mal's voice to be a bit less gruff, which I also thought when he was reintroduced in an earlier book of this series, but again, there's so many male characters in this series, so it did help to keep everyone distinct.)
I admit that I had wanted to know Mal more when he was younger, as there was something about him in the original related series that piqued my interest, even if his presence was fairly fleeting. I was a teensy bit disappointed some time ago when I'd scanned ahead in the various related series to see if he would have his own book, but found that I wouldn't really get to see him again until he was middle-aged. I did like him as an older adult though - I liked that he still had moments of youth and youthful uncertainty. So often, characters in books who are aged around 37-50+ seem almost TOO mature. There's a realism to people not always knowing what to do and say when faced with new experiences and new people in their lives, and for them also to enjoy the occasional moments of immaturity.
On the side of why this isn't a 5 star or a heartily given 4 star for me...there was an excessive amount of purple prose, introspection & repetition of sentiments and certain aspects of background. The book probably could've had at least a 1/3 cut out of it, or a 1/3 taken up by additional different aspects of the characters' backgrounds that were hinted at, but not fleshed out in their dialogue - basically, it didn't need quite so much repetitive schmaltz. That's the case I've noticed with this series in general. There IS a decent amount of dialogue, thankfully - instead of the nearly all introspection that some books I've read have fallen into. There is definite chemistry and communication between the characters. There's one tiny bit of the omega-verse rules I didn't quite understand in this one - but the bit I didn't quite get would be spoiler-ish to say. It wasn't a huge deal, just a little niggling thing I pondered along the way.
But like I said, I did already get the next book and I'm well invested in everyone's stories. I'd still recommend this series.

A Wonderful Life
I am so glad that Mal gets everything he wanted and more than he could have wished for. This was such a feel good story that had wonderful moments of emotional tension. Vincent also gets to be part of something so wonderful. Very special story.
I listened to the audio version. It was well done and allowed the stories own emotional moments come through.

Submit me sweetly baby
My my, I love unexpected roles reversal and I was absolutely in love with the love story of an older omega and a younger alpha! It was refreshing, exciting and lovely all in one.
Mal is an older omega who’s at his wits end trying to get pregnant before it’s too late. He has always been good with children and has long longed for a family to call his own. He has plenty children to love given his pro free soon but he wants to love and hold a baby that’s of his blood and flesh. And Vincent is a younger alpha single dad with a secret so big that he’s afraid to reveal it to anyone. When these two met, sparks were flying and all bets are totally OFF. Two men who earnestly long to love and be loved will finally get their HEA.
My my my, where do I begin?!?! First of all, the sexual chemistry and actually sex between Mal and Vincent was so hot that I can’t even!!!! 🔥🔥🔥 Piper Scott definitely knows her way around the bedroom and more! And Vincent’s daughters Nikki was super adorable. I wish I can squeeze her cheeks for real. I’m not going to say much since I don’t wanna spoil but man, this book is just ingeniously written. I really REALLY loved it! And Michael Ferraiuolo, I bow three times for your sexy, smoking-hot narration! 😛 This girl enjoyed it a lot. I cannot freaking wait for the next book in the series as the audio! I swear I’m going to stalk Piper to death! 😂😘

Love the series!
The Solution is book 3 in the Single Dad Support Group series. I love this book. Mal has been eanting a child and has found a clinical trial to take part in. This could be his last change to have his own child. Vincent just so happens to be his doctor for the trial. They had met at a friend's reception and had an intimate moment. This is a story with an age gap, a little daddy kink and a trans alpha. I love that Vincent is living his true self and that Mal is supportive of him. They really are so sweet together. Spoiler: The trial worked and Mal was able to give birth.
Narrator Michael Ferraiuolo does another amazing job in this series.

You can never go wrong with a story by Piper Scott, she always brings the love and feels. Mal and Vincent are my favorite couple, I didn't want their story to end.
Michael was spot on with the voices for the characters, he brought out every aspect to make it all real.

The Solution is my favorite of the single dad books. Michael's narration was fantastic. His voice for Mal was spot on!! I loved how the relationship developed between Mal and Vincent. I especially like how Vincent isn't the typical alpha character!

my favorite SDSG book thus far
This is my favorite Single Dad Support Group book thus far and Mal is my new favorite character. This book took me by surprise by how good it is. Vincent and Mal are trying to live life by their own rules and mesh so well together. And, of course, Michael Ferraiuolo’s narration makes even the best book even better.
