About this listen

Handsome, charming Conor O’Shea has had enough of driving and guiding tours of Ireland.

So when an opportunity to renovate and run the magnificent but rundown Castle Dysert as a five-star resort presents itself, he grabs it with both hands.

But problems arise almost immediately when his business partner appears to have more on her agenda than just business.

To add to that, his darling wife seems discontented as a stay at home mom, and his in-laws have moved in.

With his family’s future now entangled in a stunningly beautiful old castle on the coast of Clare, Conor undertakes a mammoth project, and in so doing, he uncovers the troubled past of this ancient stronghold. The mystery of the family who lived, loved, and lost their lives within the walls of the castle are reflected in his own family as they too struggle to let go of the past. Like in every small Irish village, gossip abounds. But do the ghosts of regret still haunt these ancient hallways? It is now left to Conor to explore the truth and uncover a heartbreaking lesson on the power of memory and the long threads that bind us together.

In The Story of Grenville King, Jean Grainger takes you once again to the real heart of Ireland.

Lovely!

Editor, please note, there is a duplication of chapters (I believe chapter 7) in this Audible book.
Siobhan Waring is an outstanding narrator. How she does all those characters' voices is beyond me. I am amazed! Thank you.
Ms. Grainger writes lovely stories and I love being transported to Ireland via them. How I wish I could visit. Thank you for the virtual visits though!

Fun story with fun characters

I love stories that don’t end. The Tour series keeps letting us see the unfolding lives and intertwining adventures of characters we love True friendship and love for each other is evident as they have each other’s backs no matter what happens

Heartwarming, heartbreaking, and heart triumphant…All in one story series!

Jean Grainger’s is a master storyteller. I am devouring this series! The continued character development have brought these characters to life and the emotions evoke drive me to care about them and can’t wait to read the next adventures of Conner O’Shea et all as they bring Ireland alive for me so that it may cause me to take another trip across the big pond to Ireland to see with my eyes the world that inspired such wonderful stories of a former tour guide turned hotelier, exploring all the varied situations and cross sections of humanity with all the complex stories of lives lived and the broad inter connections that weave a tapestry of longing, love, fun, mischief, thrills and chills and triumph over evil in a satisfying way. Do yourself a favor and invest your time with the whole series going back and staring with “The Tour” and reading the whole lot before this story. Although this book’s story could stand on its own, the richness of it will be much more enjoyable to have the backdrop of the preceding books in the series.

Please keep this series going.

I struggled a little in the middle. Afraid that I was going to dislike the ending. But, as usual, you pulled all the threads together nicely.

Excellent Continuation of the Tour Series

The content of the story was on par with the rest of the Tour Series, and the narrator does an excellent job representing the individual characters and keeping the story interesting.

What a great story..

I was so happy to see the author has made The Tour into a series. Not since Maeve Binchy have I enjoyed the Irish setting and the rich characters. I hope she writes many more - I’m hoping the next book has adventures of the running of The Castle :-)..
