About this listen

A heart-warming story about family secrets and one woman’s escape to dreamy Sandy Cove on the stunning west coast of Ireland.

The picturesque beach of Wild Rose Bay is the last place Lydia Butler thought she’d be. But having just lost everything, the run-down cottage she inherited from her Great Aunt Nellie is the only place she can take her daughter, Sunny. Hidden away in a tiny Irish village, she can protect Sunny from the gossip in Dublin, and the real reason they have nowhere else to live....

The cottage is part of the old coastguard station and other eccentric residents are quick to introduce themselves when Lydia arrives. Lydia instantly feels less alone, fascinated by the stories they have about Nellie, and she’s charmed by American artist Jason O’Callaghan, the mysterious man who lives next door.

But the longer Lydia relaxes under the moonlit sky, the more the secret she’s keeping from Sunny threatens to come out. And as she finds herself running into Jason’s arms, she knows she must be honest and face up to the past she has tried to forget. Has she finally found people who will truly accept her, or will the truth force her to leave the cottage for good?

Will transport you to Ireland to relax on the shore and stare at the perfect emerald waters. The Lost Girls of Ireland is perfect for listeners of Debbie Macomber, Sheila O’Flanagan and Mary Alice Monroe.

Soft story.

It’s a bit boring but it’s a good blend of bad things happening and the struggle to find peace without the over-the-top drama that so many books feature.

Location location location

If you’re a romantic, enjoy this getaway to Ireland’s west coast. The story was perhaps predictable, however I thoroughly enjoyed the immersion into a charming Irish village, with a romance thrown in. A wonderful escape from today’s tumultuous world.

Successful Irish Lassies

Wonderful story of a Widower and her daughter who lost everything only to gain it all back in Spades. Wonderful story that placed you right on the coastline of Southern Ireland.

life changing experiences

too short of a story, it needed more to close the gap of life of the two

Good book…

The Lost Girls of Ireland by Susanne O’Leary was a fun book right up to the last chapter but the last chapter tried to put a bow on everything all at once. I wish it had ended in a way that left me wanting more. This was a good book that deserved a better finish.
So far I believe this is a four (4) book series, maybe when it was first written it was not going to be a series. I am going to read the second book in this series next. I am hoping the ending is better.

Meh

Narration was very bland. Most times I was wondering if I was listening to a children's book. It made me return all other downloads.

The reader will float into this book

The little descriptions, written in just the right place, sent me to be beside Lizzie.

As in all other love stories, the Epilogue was predictable. What made this book different was Lizzie’s journey from humiliation to contentment. Haven’t we all been there?

The narrator read the book with a clear voice, avoided turning a book into a play. In my work I sporadically travel 3 hours. She kept me entertained. No, I did not close my eyes and weave down the freeway as if in a trance.

Happy Ever After

A good read that shares the strenght of a woman to carry on after her husband's indiscretion. Jen does a great job of narrating. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
