About this listen

All six Bastable children - Dora, Oswald, Dicky, Alice, Noel and Horace Octavius - are ambitious adventurers, digging detectives and intrepid treasure seekers by nature. Unfortunately, the Bastable family is currently facing an uncertain financial future. When father takes ill, and his business partners abandon him, the six children team up in an effort to restore their family’s wealth. Although they devise some ingenious escapades, their efforts usually end up unprofitable but fun - and sometimes their digging gets downright dangerous. But one day their adventure leads them to completely unexpected results. Author E. Nesbit’s classic children’s stories have entertained countless readers since their original publication over 100 years ago. With Simon Prebble’s exceptional narration this marvelously written tale shines as brightly as gold coins.

The narration was awesome the story was very Charming but at times it seemed very slow and it seems that we would lose track of what was happening due to that. We did finish it and we're happy with the ending. In some ways I think this would better read rather than listen to.

Grate narration, slow moving story

I loved it all except I wish someone would have made Dora explain why she thought all those things were wrong I agree they were but the little ones like H.O won’t know why

The fun and jolly aspect of the book and the fun tone the narrator spoke in

I enjoyed this clever story of the Bastebiel children and would recommend it even to adults as it is a fun, and easy read and clever, as well

I think this book is a very good book. I think anyone who likes funny stories and classic English books should read or listen to this book because I think it is a classic but you can decide for your self❤️😍😉!!! I like this book because it was written by E. Nesbitt. If you like this book you should read or listen to five children and it which is sort of like the story of The treasure seekers but it is a little more magical then the story of the treasure seekers100%❤️💛💚💙💜!!!

I love this book😉❤️!!!

My children and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It helped a lot to listen and read text simultaneously, for proper pronunciation and understanding (since we are American).

Fun and Engaging Book

Such an endearing story. The perspective from the children's eyes is fantastic. They are right: grown ups do say and do all those things! The children's innocence and imaginations are refreshing. Loved it and highly recommended it! <3

Great story for kids (and adults)

I like how I can relate to this book in all sorts of ways. My favorite part is the scene with the robber and burglar (apparently two different things).

Not bad

There are many recordings of The Treasure Seekers and they vary greatly in quality. It is fundamentally important that the reader understand this story’s narrator in a sympathetic way. Some of the recordings are rot because the reader doesn’t seem to like the children, but Mr. Prebble’s reading is A-1.

Best Narration
