About this listen

Henry Stuart, Duke of Gloucester, the youngest brother of King Charles II, is a handsome man with sound principles. When the 20-year-old prince contracts smallpox in 1660, his life takes a decidedly sinister turn. Obsessed with Henry from afar, Contessa Griselda di Cuorenero - one of the Devil's concubines - turns him into a vampire and plunges him into the world of night. But Henry soon discovers that not all horrors are of the paranormal kind....

In the unnaturally close village of Coffin's Bishop, Henry encounters a severely abused young woman, a woman who has suffered under humans more monstrous than vampires. Could love save them from the evil they have known? And at what cost?

Henry must choose between his humanity and his monstrous, insatiable desire for human blood.

From the author of His Last Mistress, The Stuart Vampire is a dark gothic tale in the vein of The Monk.

Really Good Story

The story took a little while to get going, but once it did?
BLAST OFF!!!!

Awesome book! I can't wait for a sequel.
The thought of listening to the author herself reading this book, was rather disquieting.

But she didn't read it. She performed it! WOW!
I can't wait to see what she does next.

GO ANDREA!!!

Fantastic.

I first read the book upon its release a few years ago, but when I got this audiovook, I decided a reread was most certainly in order. A very enjoyable few sessions of listening and reading a supernatural history book. Ms. Zuvich is well versed in history and it shines through in this novel.

I enjoyed her take on the supernatural elements and I dearly hope that she will someday write a sequel. I would love more fiction from her. Ms.Zuvich proves that you can take history and you can take the supernatural and you can mix them to make a delightful story.

Waste of a Credit

This book is boring and started off like Anne Rice's Interview with a Vampire. Only instead of one vampire telling the story there are two vampires telling their stories. I was like, really how original to piggy back a vampire novel. Then as the male vampire story was told to the reporter/journalist it was taking me everything not to fall asleep, like a textbook. I couldn't make heads or tails of the characters they were introduced so fast and without an introduction. The author is the narrator and that is very problematic because the author has a bit of a lisp or just doesn't pronounce things correctly. This is just a waste of a credit. This is not a good vampire novel and I love vampires and gothic novels. Waste
