About this listen

Andrew Clausing is a teacher who has lost nearly everything. His wife left him. His teenage daughter hates him. He drinks too much. The only things he has are a love of teaching, his relationship as a mentor to his students, and a secret affair with another teacher who happens to be married to a state senator. When one of his female students mistakes his kindness for romantic interest, Andrew is faced with losing the few things he has left in his life.

He should have known better.

The story line is good, maybe a little predictable.
Every time the narrator pronounces Enid (ē-nid) as (in-id) I cringe. Seriously, no one corrected him after the first time?

Thought-provoking

Did they actually pay this audiobook narrator who is clearly unfamiliar with medium-level vocabulary? If Ronald Riffle received more than $50, it was too much.

Luckily, the book was worth suffering through that . Steven Wedel highlights thought-provoking topics about students and teachers in the digital age. Food for thought.
