About this listen

Baseball star Will Vandergriff knows any number of women who would happily pretend to be his girlfriend. In a last-ditch effort to restore his good standing with his team's higher-ups, he enlists the help of his neurotic, goody-goody neighbor. Schoolteacher Olivia Pratt might be a bit quirky and a bit of a loner, but she's a lot more inviting than she knows. Will hopes that bringing her to his next game might revamp his reckless reputation and help get his career back on track. The only problem? The plan works a little too well. Not only do the higher-ups love Olivia, but Will plays his best game yet. Suddenly his losing streak is a thing of the past, and Olivia is his new good-luck charm. Will feels anything but lucky.

After years of keeping the world at bay, Olivia Pratt is pulling off the ultimate performance - not only reluctantly posing as Will's girlfriend but also insisting that she's oblivious to his major-league appeal. But she can only lie to herself for so long. Being by Will's side feels good. Really good. Maybe it's finally time to make a pitch for everything she really wants - and to find out just how exhilarating love can be.

Story

Beautiful character development. Believable storyline. You always know how it will end, but getting there is fun. Puts several smiles on your face and a few chuckles. Amy Mateo is my favorite story teller.

A fun bit of romance...

A fun listen, great narrator's, a bit of light romance. Enjoy it, gave a few smiles, very clean and refreshing. The only negative would be I, personally would have liked to hear more about the young boy in class, it seemed like a big deal and then nothing for more than half the book but other than that really, really enjoyable listen. Loved Perry even though I'm a dog person myself lol.

LOVED IT!

This was a very cute story. I really liked how they had both a male and female narrator for Will and Olivia.

Crazy love story

At first I didn't like Olivia. But by the end of chapter two she'd won me over. The story had funny moments woven in through the series ones. The points of view from both main characters drew me into each of their worlds and root for them when I wasn't rolling my eyes at them or with them. A fun read even if you aren't in to baseball.

I'm Not In The Mood to Deal With Crazy

The world is full of nut jobs and a first rate one lives next door.

Olivia is a germ-a-fob, OCD, clean freak, plus other quirks.
Will is arrogant, antagonizing, and mischievous.

So you can guess Will and Olivia are neighbors (thanks to fiction a 4th grade school teacher and a professional baseball player can live in the same building as neighbors).

Will has always thought of Olivia as his very attractive but odd neighbor. One night he has a party that gets a little out-of-hand and Olivia shows up at his door at 1am with a screw driver for a weapon. Will challenges Olivia's reasons for him disturbing her but shes hard headed and the more he challenges her reasons the more outrageous they get.

Will continues to antagonize, challenge and tease Olivia and she continues to give her outrageous excuses.

--------------------------------------THIS BOOK IS HILARIOUS-------------------------------------------------

I can't remember laughing so much from a book. It's a hilarious feel good story that's good to listen to after a sad or dark book. There's a gradual build of their relationship, but without sex. There's alluding to sex but no actual descriptive sex but the story is so funny and entertaining it wasn't missed.

This is my first book by Amy Matayo. I like her comical/dry humor writing. I'll be looking for more.

Erin Mallon and Will Damron gave a hilarious captivating performance.

Is it worth a credit? Not when you can purchase it for $7.34 and it's a definite keeper for my library. If it goes off sale it's definitely a credit worthy book.

mediocre

This was an ok story. Immature characters that behave a lot like teenagers instead of their portrayed age. It was entertaining enough but will be a return instead of a keeper.

the narrator makes Will sound like a sad sap!

it was a real struggle to listen to this book. I think it would have been okay if I had been reading it because the story is an awful but the narration was terrible. the male was worse than the female but neither was great
