Publisher's summary

When Isaac Bell attempts to decipher the forbidding deaths of nine men, he encounters a secret so powerful it could dictate the fate of the world in this riveting thriller by the number one New York Times best-selling author.

A century apart, NUMA Director Dirk Pitt and detective Isaac Bell team up to unlock the truth about the most famous maritime disaster of all time.

In the present day, Pitt makes a daring rescue from inside an antiquated submersible in the waters off New York City. His reward afterwards is a document left behind a century earlier by legendary detective Isaac Bell - a document that re-opens a historical mystery....

In 1911, in Colorado, Isaac Bell is asked to look into an unexplained tragedy at Little Angel Mine, in which nine people died. His dangerous quest to answer the riddle leads to a larger puzzle centered on byzanium, a rare element with extraordinary powers and of virtually incalculable value. As he discovers that there are people who will do anything to control the substance, Isaac Bell will find out just how far he'll go to stop them.

Another Clive Cussler Adventure

As always Scott Brick did an excellent job narrating. He is probably one of the main reasons that I continue to listen to Clive Cussler. This story could have been a little more condensed and a little less contrived. I know it’s fiction and an adventure but maybe a little more in the realm of believability would be nice. Would I buy it again? Of course I would.... It’s Clive Cussler and Scott Brick!

Gotta Love Isaac Bell

The Isaac Bell stories are my favorite Cussler stories. I love how they are incorporating him into the other character and storylines and hope they continue. I enjoyed hearing this story to see the other side of the Dirk Pitt novel 'Raise the Titanic!'

Great Circle Back to Raise the Titanic

One of the first Clive Cussler books I ever read was Raising the Titanic and I loved it, but there was so much more to the story about how the minerals were thought to be on board and this book told that story! Loved the fact that Cussler and Du Brul were able to weave Isacc Bell into the story and bring his and Pitt's stories together! Loved the trains and ships and the feeling of being transported back to the early 1900s. Another great read!

Isaac bell brilliant yet again

Clive in all his books takes on on such amazing believable adventures and this is yet another. I love the character of Isaac bell along with the time frame of history it takes place. The storyline, the characters, the writers, the narration all work to perfection. If you love history, love mysteries, love crime drama you will enjoy this book and the entire Isaac bell series.

What an amazing tale.

I absolutely loved this book. The Issac Bell stories are one of my favorite detective series out there. Clive Cussler unfortunately passed away while I was listening to this one. That sad news makes we worry about the future of Issac Bell novels. All of Mr Cusslers Series for that matter.

Never a dull moment

I wonder how many of the links to Raise the Titanic will be lost on newer readers. This book stands on its own, but it made me nostalgic for the original, so early in the Pitt series. I think I'll have to revisit it next. Actually, that makes me wonder... will this book have a noticeable impact on the sales of Raise the Titanic? Hmmm....

Great book!

As with many Clive Cussler books, his characters traverse across the different series. This book revisits one of his first books from 1976. Giving a different perspective and a great explanation to the rest of the story of “Raise the Titanic!”
Scott Brick does a wonderful job, as always.

Clive Cussler does it again with his best novels. The Isack Bell stories are by far his best.
