Publisher's summary

In this audiobook, we will elucidate the spiritual and moral guidelines contained in the cards. We will explain how to use the cards in the areas of divination and personal meditation. We will look at the evolution of the cards and examine the origins of the tarot in parlor games, as an instrument to convey moral and spiritual lessons, as a tool for meditation, and finally, as a window into the future.

We will trace the evolution of the tarot through social and religious change. Information and details will be given on how to divine the past, present, and future as we explore the use of the cards in modern society.

From the 12th century to today, the cards have offered insight into time, spirit, and the inner self. Much history and meaning has been lost, but this audiobook will bridge the gaps and brings us back the wisdom lost so long ago.

It is not the mind that moves the oracle. The tarot kindly performs for both those amassed and bereft of the science of the mind. The oracle is moved by time itself; that thing, like the ocean tide, that ties all things, living and not, together into the dance and rhythm of synchronicity.

The tide is discerned by the swaying rushes, the wind by a bending bough, and the tides of time by the oracle of the cards. Each moment contains a distinct imprint. Each can be reflected in the cards.

Good info but hard to follow

While there was a lot of good info the narrator spoke in a monotone voice.

Good History

A lot of history went into this, the spiritual side, the wisdom, and the uses. For meditation, or seeing the past, present and future. Well written and covered more in-site as to the tarot then I had read before. Given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Excellent historical perspective .

Surprising Christian origins in this author's perspective. Yet still appreciated by any within any formal and informal education to an open philosophical soul. THANK YOU SINCERELY .

Fairly informative

Needed more information on the individual cards. The history of the tarot was however interesting and informative.

Scary voice, a bit too much Jesus

The voice sounds like he's narrating a horror movie, which makes the Biblical quotes really pop. I appreciate that this book adopts a Christian interpretation of the tarot because a lot of contemporary authors are not Christian and they purposefully (or out of ignorance - don't know what's worse) omit the numerous Biblical and Christian references from the RWS symbolism. However, by the end of the book I was slightly overwhelmed and bored by the unrelated and frankly unnecessary Biblical quotes.

As far as the tarot-related content goes, it's a good introduction for beginners, no matter what their religion is. Just get the written book or don't listen to this one in the dark. :-)
