Healing and second chances

What a great book about healing and learning to live again. This book is about Dare and Billie but we also have their friend Eddie that has played an important part in their lives since his death. Billie blames herself and has shut down her daredevil ways and Dare Whiskey is determined to get her back to living again. The long friendship has more there and finally, they heal together.

Savannah Peachwood and Jacob Morgan and great as Billie and Dare and give this book all the emotion needed. It will pull at your heartstrings for sure. Great story, with great characters, and I, really loved it.

Second chances

Dare and Billie have been daredevils along with another childhood friend Eddie since they were kids. Billie has always been the one for Dare but she belonged to Eddie. One tragic accident changed everything. Dare and Billie are meant to be together but guilt, past demons and a little bit of stubbornness prevents Billie from finding true happiness. Dare is determined to breakdown her walls and show her exactly how they can have their HEA.

A fun, wonderful emotional story of second chances. Great narration by Savannah Peachwood and Jacob Morgan. Once again, Melissa does not disappoint.

Emotional and Engaging!

This is the first book in The Whiskeys: Dark Knights at Redemption Ranch Series. Devlin/Dare and Billie's story is beautifully written, emotional, and engaging, filled with angst, and drama. Dare is such a great man, caring, and supportive. Billie is beautiful, and strong. Their story is heart-wrenching. I liked the family bonds in the story. Savannah Peachwood and Jacob Morgan did a great job bringing this story to life. Looking forward to listening to Freeing Sully, the next book in the series.

A good spin off series

I’ve read/listened to some of the Dark Knights books so I enjoyed finding this spin off series. I love the premise of Redemption Ranch and how Dare works with people who need a second chance. I think I’ll continue with this series.

Quite the story.

I like all the things about this story. I enjoyed meeting the Redemption Ranch crew (I haven't delved into any other series yet,) and the characterization was on point. You cannot hate Jacob Morgan in literally any narration- so immediately I was smitten with the tale. I appreciated the long lost best friends aspect of this. It had just enough suspense and trauma to keep me interested without getting overboard and unrealistic. I will say, there's a tell in these- each of the novels give you a super sappy, loving, swoon worthy scene just before the tragedy, so I learned my lesson during this series. Overall, I enjoyed the snark, the characterization of both the hero and heroine, and I liked the healthy, stable, male pursuit, which is seriously lacking in Romance as a genre. I love that Dare has a normal job, and the everyday, relatable pressures being built into the story, like having to get up and go to work, and pressure to run a family business. Overall, this was a great tale, there definitely are SOME SCENES... insert chili pepper emoji here... but I didn't feel like it took over the story. Enjoyable... and Jacob Morgan.

Daredevils for life!

I love second-chance stories, and this is one of my favorite books—and now, audiobooks—of Melissa’s.
Dare Whiskey, played flawlessly by Jacob Morgan, made my book boyfriend and book husband list. And Savannah definitely brought tears to my eyes.

Billie and Dare are childhood friends. They used to be three—the Daredevils—always challenging each other and doing stunts, but when Eddie died, it left them heartbroken. Billie withdrew into her shell and kept everyone out, including Dare.
Dare is a therapist, and he's the only one who can get through to her. He needs her, he wants her, so he pushes, but he does it the right way. When those walls around her come tumbling down, when we get to know who the Daredevils were and what they went through, it was very emotional for me. The small moments, what they used to do together, how much they all loved each other... Chapter 10 in audio absolutely broke me!

This is an emotional book about overcoming trauma and healing. About letting people in and knowing who your people are. Who they always have been and will be, regardless of what life throws at you. I live for the emotion in a narrator’s voice—I want them to pull me in and make me believe. And that they did.

When Billie and Dare finally come together, there are years of pent-up dreams and so much love and longing. And heat. Because, let me tell you, he pushes her, but she pushes him right back. And while he can be hot (I’m sure you know that by now), it was the vulnerability and desperation in Jacob’s voice during their tough times that sealed the deal for me.
Savannah’s voice gives Billie her determination and her grit—everything I already knew she had when I read the book—along with her sweetness, and makes her real to me.

This was a fabulous listen. A real story played by two exceptionally skilled people who elevated the characters to real people for me.

All the Feels!

I absolutely loved this story. I laughed and cried, like ugly cried. A wonderful story about true love, forgiveness and hope.
Jacob Morgan is amazing and really brought so much emotion to his parts. This is my second book with Savannah Peachwood narrating and I have to say she did better than the last story I heard her narrate but Jacob Morgan really brought it home.
