About this listen

This brand-new unabridged audiobook of The Two Towers, the second part of J. R. R. Tolkien’s epic adventure The Lord of the Rings, is read by the BAFTA award-winning actor, director, and author Andy Serkis.

The company of the Ring is torn asunder. Frodo and Sam continue their journey alone down the great River Anduin - alone, that is, save for the mysterious creeping figure that follows wherever they go. This continues the classic tale begun in The Fellowship of the Ring, which reaches its awesome climax in The Return of the King.

Great!

Andy Serkis should be the only narrator that's read audible books. What a legend. Hard to believe this is one man's voice.

INCREDIBLE

It’s amazing to hear Andy Serkis do the character’s voices from the movies. Listening to this was such an incredible experience. I’m so thankful he did this.

I waited months for this and wasn’t disappointed in the least

I was in the midst of rereading the LOTR trilogy for a college class when I saw that Andy Serkis had recorded an audiobook of the trilogy. Eagerly, I awaited the release and the recording happened to be available just in time for my return to Middle Earth. Twenty years have passed since I first read these books. Dozens of hours of Peter Jackson’s movies filled the void. Andy Serkis’ performance bridged the gap and not only reunited me with a vital part of my childhood but granted me a new appreciation for Tolkien’s magical creation.

Andy Serkis was so enthusiastic it was fantastic

Loved this, Andy Serkis gave everyone their own voice. Such a fantastic performance, literally felt like I was listening to a movie with many actors. kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Serkis really brings it to life

A classic brought to life by Andy Serkis' delightful performance. His singing of the songs I personally find abrasive and "wrong"(if such a word can be really applied) but without him it wouldn't have quite the same impact.

Speed Up Chapter 4

Andy Serkis did an amazing job creating all the voices for the Fellowship, so picking up book 2 was a no brainer. His Ent voices however made me consider stopping. I just decided to speed up the reading time to x1.15 to push through chapter 4 quickly. I'm happy I did because the last half of the book hearing Serkis narrate smeagol, frodo, and Sam's adventure was magical. Starting the return of the king now!

No better choice than Andy!

Once again I am blown away by the performance of Andy. There is simply no other comment needed.

Andy Serkis voice doesn’t do it for me for some characters

Of course he nails Sméagol, Sam, and Frodo, but goodness sakes it’s absolutely terrible making it through Aragorn and Legolas dialog.

The book, of course, is amazing.
